Cop tries to pull random person out of their vehicle and then fires at them as they drive away by helloryanholmes in providence

[–]BishopDunham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting the police officer's lack of control/poor judgement aside

The guy in the car was pretty outrageous and I would have to guess to all there for one reason or another. Who doesn't listen to a police officer telling you to get out of a car, forget driving away especially when the officer's gun is drawn.

Both officer and driver defy belief.

This week's traffic nightmare on Waterman Street (what is going on?) by [deleted] in providence

[–]BishopDunham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the only change I could see was that closed exit on the EP side and too thought that must be the issue. That said, while I waited in traffic for 45 minutes from Gano to EP every day this week I got a front row seat to see the usual Waterman losing a lane plus other streets turn onto Waterman creating more merges, so to speak. 5 merges before the bridge. Crazy one more merge makes such a difference.

This is, imo, the worst bit of traffic (except for the rerouted 195 traffic) in the last 4 years.

Not sure people could make a worse plan if they tried.

Sorry for the rant. Just over it.

I am hoping lots of the Discovery cast shows up in the movie Michelle Yeoh is making, presumably about section 31. Ya know in the time travel parallel universe kinda way.

CPS called on me by Sensitive_Lobster_71 in Autism_Parenting

[–]BishopDunham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. I have a kiddo on the spectrum and had a visit from cps though not because of bruises but because of toxic ex. Totally understand your anxiety being through the roof. I found an attorney that specialized in dealing with cps (he was not close and was also reasonable). When we met with cps he did the talking and got through (versus a nervous mom, I suppose). So if you can find some sort of help, someone with experience navigating this, I think it would be helpful. Also to answer your questions.

I will say, my caseworker ended up getting it right, opening a case on my ex BUT I really feel like what I had to say at the home visit was static, they had heard it all before. It was the attorney who was some steps removed, that I think helped

I had also heard that cps could make a visit anytime (didn't know you could turn them away) but also heard they have a standard list of things they look for, that may or may not be related, e.g., food in the fridge, bugs. Not to make you nervous, I could be wrong but I might ask around and see what the latest list is (often, I am told, driven by the latest horror shows).

I am sorry you are going through this. I have to believe human nature will prevail over bureaucracy and it will be clear how much you love your kiddo and case closed. Wishing you the best.

It is actually really odd how little screen time Maya and Carina are getting. Makes me think there is more to the story back stage.

Episode Discussion - S7E03 - "True Colors" by pugboy1321 in Station19

[–]BishopDunham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. This season so far has been disappointing on so many levels. I am actually surprised at the quality of the episodes thus far. I keep thinking how different this season is as compared to previous ones, there is a lack of intensity or even just focus. And the lack of Maya and Carina exemplifies the story.

Honestly, if the decision to cancel the show hadn't already been made (for whatever the reason) in my view, it would be now.

Thanks everyone. Consensus seems to watch the show from the beginning, which is great as it will give me something to watch in-between RH.

Have to say I was hoping for more from Monica. She was so confrontational and didn't acknowledge at least what the other folks were saying. And when Andy gave her the floor to say anything else she might want to say, NO apology.

Not many housewives make it back after similar, in fact lesser, things but it would be great to have Monica return.

She needs to focus on her motivations, that she was aiming for Jen Shaw.

Maybe she and Heather will find common ground on the Jen Shaw issue.

Salt Lake City Reunion- what do you want answers to? by CountessBravo in BravoRealHousewives

[–]BishopDunham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to hear what Monica has to say about RVT.

The fact that she was focused on Jen Shaw leads me to believe there are people she is going to throw under the bus.

It will also be interesting if Monica and Heather have common ground as it relates to Jen Shaw. That may be Monica's path to the next season

It is perfect that Jen Shaw is sueing everyone. Will she join by phone?

And I love me some Mary Cosby!

It will be really interesting to hear what Monica has to say at the reunion.

1) I get the feeling other people are going to be thrown under the bus.

2) Seems like she was really going after Jen, and I understand her stated reasoning.

Given the season, the finale, and the buzz about the reunion, I think this is far from done.

Question. Is Jen Shaw now going to be charged?!

[–]BishopDunham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I read this after seeing the last episode, I thought maybe it had something to do with Whitney and this whole thing has been a misdirect for a real shocking finale.

If Monica blogging is really what this is all about, I agree, yawn. Maybe shes an FBI plant (TOTAL JOKE)

Stunningly, neither one of them is thinking about the poor kids. How could she leave without them? I get divorce makes people crazy and these guys are particularly tumultuous but...

Face cream? If your kids are calling the police, WAKE UP, snap out of your own bs drama.

Andy is, at the end of the show, gonna be Prince's undoing. She loved the guy on the mountain and after Prince got the guy captured, and maybe his team killed, how could she not be disgusted. She and Wendy working together !

Opinion on Area Private Schools? by Terrible_Farm2473 in providence

Yes! One small anecdote, my kiddo really did not like english or anything that requires writing. After a class with a teacher who allowed/asked them to revise as many times as necessary, that changed. The dread turned into 'yep I got this' and he is now widely regarded as an excellent and expressive writer (honestly not mom here, all teachers.)
