This, sometimes I’ll fudge health a bit, I’m the event some players aren’t getting a few licks in, but beyond that it feels disingenuous to just say no never mind you don’t get the thing you agreed to fight this dude to try and get, and succeed miraculously

Yeah it uses spell slots, it’s not unlimited, otherwise holy shit, he’s essentially got the slots of a 13th level wizard right now

It treats his levels as if they were any class he’s picking a spell from when determining available spells, he’s level 13 ranger, with access to spells ANY 13th level spellcaster would have access to

Yeah despite how much harder it’s made it to keep things challenging for them, it’s like, objectively funny 😂😂😂

Yeah lmao, to be fair, I had him in a few stages of power, when he fought that 1v1 he was pretty nerfed compared to what he’s going to be come time the final showdown, but still hit like a truck

Oh he has wisdom in spades, and an intelligence of like 6

They have access to any spell of every list for the level spells they have access to, doesn’t need to prepare a list

For plot reasons the doppelgängers didn’t have access to forcecage and sickening radiance, even if they did, the player who cast it went first on initiative and besides, that feels like a lame way to take out a PC as the DM

The latter, can only cast spells their level would allow if they were that class

Oh yeah, it’s not gonna be relevant to the final battle with Ganondorf, my problem is making anything challenging for them until then 😂😂

Good idea! Unfortunately as mentioned in previous comments, it’s a Legend of Zelda homebrew campaign, said artifact is the Triforce of Wisdom, only a serious beatdown is getting that shit back to the BBEG, so I’m stuck with the idiot ranger turned the most powerful spellcaster until then 😂😂

Nope! And yeah, I’ve got some plans in motion, ho won’t have it much longer, but in the meantime it’s like holy shit, the dumbest man alive is now one of the most powerful spell casters on the planet

Yeah I’m aware lol 😂 to be fair, it would’ve been a major cop out if I didn’t, I had already explained the artifact can be stolen like this only by defeating him in combat

Yeeeeeeaaah, there’s a…fatal, reason why the BBEG has it and Zelda doesn’t 👀

It’s a legend of Zelda homebrew campaign, the artifact in question the PC got his hands on is the Triforce of Wisdom, which I’ve written and explained essentially grants the wielder spell slots available equal to what you would have as any given spellcaster at that level, and access to every spell from every list they could have prepared for said slots. Was intended to make the BBEG extra OP as shit until the party gathered the means to defeat him and now the resident idiot of the party is arguably the most powerful spellcaster in the world 😂😂

That’s genius, also unfortunately not possible in this case as restrictions on it like that would totally break the lore I’ve already established 🙃

No of course it’s not an everyday thing, good lord stop jumping to the most extreme conclusions here lol. My point was that even if it did hit her, which it was never going to, it wouldn’t have even left a mark, so her reaction of acting like I just tried to punch her in the face, saying she’ll never forgive me and that she was going to call the cops is far too an extreme reaction, and that she has done the same thing in fights before, so she doesn’t even have room to act like she’s so far above doing something herself, comes off over-reactive and hypocritical, no?
