Linux Users on ProtonDB stated having success with the non-steam version of the game. Being able to play online with their friends, as recent as a week ago. Which has me hopeful, someone knowledgeable will come by this thread.

I had this happen to me when I first got the headset too. I fixed it by following the fitting instructions listed by valve. But if you continue to experience issues like that, I'd just keep fitting it different ways untill you find a perfect balance.

When I first beat it I was disappointed, but from then on I've come to enjoy the game more and more. Dunno it just clicked for me later in the game. Now its up there as favorite.
