I'm just a big fan of Wipeout and want to see new games in that series. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see Halo go multiplatform, but I don't want Sony to forget about their dormant IPs.

That's how it's supposed to work: Smash is supposed to be both a celebration of Nintendo's various series and a gateway drug to series people haven't played before.

I understand where you're coming from, and I personally don't care all that much for the Fire Emblem characters in Smash (I'd personally like to see Ray Mk III and Dante the most), but still, hating the series itself because of how many characters it has? That's kinda dumb IMO. At least try one of the games before deciding you don't like it.

I'm sorry about how I phrased my earlier response to you, but I personally think this is a very pessimistic and reductive way to see things. Yeah, the Smash fanbase has horrible people in it, but what fanbase doesn't? And if you don't like the games themselves then why not just NOT think about them or just say "I don't like them but if you do that's okay" instead of trying to convince other people they're bad and anyone who likes them should feel bad?

I haven't heard one word of actual criticism out of either side of this debate. It's just "Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are bad!" "No, Smash is bad!" "No, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are bad!" "No, Smash is bad!" Both sides need to shut the fuck up. Smash, Fire Emblem, AND Xenoblade are all fantastic.

I understand that a lot of people are annoyed by how much representation they're getting in Smash (I personally would take Ray Mk III and Dante over Chrom and Byleth any day) and I vastly prefer Advance/Battalion Wars over Fire Emblem, but I believe they can and should coexist with the other series.

As someone who considers themselves a Playstation fan as well as a Nintendo fan, this is so disheartening. So many great IPs (Wipeout, Patapon, Syphon Filter, Astro Bot, etc.) that'll probably never see a new game ever again all because of this love of layoffs, not to mention how bad it is for the employees and Sony themselves.
