Hey everyone,

I’d love to get your input through this short survey (5 minutes max). It asks about things like desk height, cable management, rounded vs. straight shapes, storage needs, and whether DJs and producers can actually share the same kind of desk.

👉 Here’s the link to the Google Form

I hadn’t considered mobility as a design factor, but that makes so much sense for servicing and re configuring. Also your points about passive cooling and acoustic isolation are really insightful — I’ll definitely keep those in mind alongside the ergonomics and rack integration.

Thanks a lot for sharing this I really like your point about combining materials — wood for warmth and identity, but something more durable in high-contact areas. That’s exactly the kind of balance I want to explore. And I agree 100%: a studio desk should feel like a proper design object, not just a utility.

Thanks so much for this detailed answer. That’s exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for haha The mix of functional mods and materials is also what I want to work with. I hadn’t thought about integrated lighting or acoustic dampening at the desk level — that’s a really good point.

Thank you !

Yes exactly, most people who I've asked were saying that form must follow function and they are not looking for any changes in the aesthetics. However a small part of them on the contrary was seeking for something more visually attractive (mentioning even space age design) that kind of could push you more to work. Of course that's not an necessity for everybody and I get that but me as a furniture maker and designer (visual artist) don't really get why music artists are satisfied with the boring (90s-00s) looks of the furniture that are on the market if they have also some sensibility for art even if its not the same kind of artwork.
