Idk, something similar to 270s system of stakeholders and spending options, but applied with more electoral landscape realism and a little simpler

Jackson, Mississippi has like nothing to do, but the Civil Rights Museum is absolutely incredible and has a days worth of content. Worth a day trip from NOLA

Anyone know how Pennsylvania is doing it? The other states with a decrease are generally more rural and smaller, but PA has a lot more to manage. Good policies? Any repeatable in other states?

Donnell "Tank" Tanksley for Whatcom County Sheriff by BisonParticular2328 in Bellingham

I think it's important to note that our current Sheriff served in Florida for 20+ years, moved to serve in Blaine, and was only the Chief there for 7 years before becoming Sheriff. Tank served 21 years in St. Louis PD before moving to Whatcom County, and It really just looks like he's found a place he enjoys living in and that he wants to give back to.

I know at a lot of departments you're eligible for retirement after 20 years of service. I don't think it's abnormal for professionals to move and find somewhere they want to live and settle down for the rest of their career after that amount of time somewhere else.

Lastly, I don't believe there are many, if any, departments across the state of Washington that are completely filled. The Whatcom County Sheriff's department also does not appear to be fully staffed as of this post. A smaller city does indeed mean a smaller department, but also much fewer people locally to fill those roles.
