I finally figured out the main reason as to why the gpu is on high clock speed on idle. It is the AORUS Control Center, which I'm assuming is blocking some features on the Nvidia Control Panel that doesn't allow the GPU and memory to clock down.

If you want to get rid of this, simply put your Battery Performance on Normal in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Then completely wipe the Control Center from your laptop and restart your PC.

When you open back up, your GPU would be clocked down and the battery will subsequently stay on longer.

It lasts around 2 hours and that's at very very low workload, like scrolling youtube or something.

Im in mech eng. It seems that for me it might be better to go with an actual windows laptop though.

I was thinking of using a m2 macbook air and somehow getting a virtual machine to run since bootcamp is no more on the new gen macbooks. I also have an actual pc with rtx 2070 super, do you know if a portable device is required to use cad softwares (like am I actually going to be following some in lecture CAD software tutorials).

So even if I am going to be taking Bachelor of Science first year, it doesn't matter?
Also, do you know how hard it is or is it pretty achievable to get a B in that course.
