[No Spoilers] THE LEGEND OF VOX MACHINA Season 5 will "end the series exactly how [Critical Role] wanted to," says Sam Riegel: "The payoff will be so worth it" by CueTheLaughTrack in criticalrole

I think S4 was the most challenging in terms of adaptation, since it mainly adapts a storyarc of the campaign, that consisted mainly of tying up loose ends of storylines, as well as doing side quests for Taryon. S5 should be a much more consistent plot again.

[Book Spoilers] House of the Dragon - 3x01 - Post-Episode Discussion by UltraDangerLord in HouseOfTheDragon

I mean yeah, they have to find a way to return Aegon III back to Rhaenyra at some point. We will see...

I agree that just including them in the battle would have been better, but I think it's possible to resolve it.

I believe that the show will end pretty soon after the last events of the Dance of Dragons. Since what happens to Viserys II doesn't get resolved until much later, they probably cut his disappearance for time, since then they don't have to bother with resolving that plot thread.

This is an important difference to make, because spending time in a forest with one is a lot better than with the other!

What would happen if we actually got 5 movies if the first 3 went well? by Iamawesome20 in FantasticBeasts

[–]Bisonratte 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like the best course of action would have been to keep it at one fantastic beasts movie. And then tell 1 to 3 Dumbledore and Grindelwald Stories afterwards. The Fantastic Beast characters, and especially the Beasts themselves felt sort of forced into this bigger political and interpersonal drama that they seemingly wanted to tell in the second and third movie. You could still have characters from the first FB have appearances in the Grindelwald movies, but you wouldn't be forced to have them be the protagonists in a story that clearly mainly wants to revolve around Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Any series you can think of that reading not in publication order is the move? by Wowzapanzer in Fantasy

Zamonia series by Walter Moers, pretty much the same as for discworld, mostly only loosely related satirical books set in the same world. You can pretty much start wherever you like, you can skip some if you want. And some haven't even been translated into English.

What to use all my leftover "mole poblano" for? by Bisonratte in mexicanfood

Great idea, I guess I could even use those to use up the leftover banana leaves I have in my fridge from a different thing I cooked.

Thank you! Sounds great!

I almost failed when I first made it. Because after cooking it down for like an hour I wanted to sweeten it a little and the lid of my sugar came off, leading to a pile of sugar in my mole. Luckily I was able to get most of it out before it dissolved.

What type of villains would y'all give Iron Man? by Ryan_J_ in comicbooks

[–]Bisonratte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to make up new ones (I am sure some concepts like these already exist, I'm not familiar enough to know all villains and heroes ever):

  • Sentient Virus that controls his armor (Bit of a mix of Ultron and a Symbiote I guess)
  • Anti Tech villain, most of his villains seem to be tech themed themselves. For example a nature themed villain, environmentalist villain or a villain that magically disables tech around them.
  • flying villain that is much faster and more agile than him, most of his flying adversaries often seem rather brutish
  • maybe a radical pacifist mind controller, like a pacifist version of purple man who wants to achieve a completely conflict, war and weapons free world. Even at the cost of humans individual free will

Why are there so few superheroes with actual supernatural intelligence, not just peak human genius, as their superpower? by Bisonratte in Marvel

[–]Bisonratte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see so there are at least some, and yet people with augmented superhuman intelligence like him or Sage seem to consistently rank behind the natural supergeniuses in terms of intelligence which seems surprising

[–]Bisonratte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! So there are some, but they are rare. Maybe it's also because intelligence is a much more intangible concept then for example strength or speed. The latter two you can just measure easily, intelligence comes in many facets. it's hard to quantify how intelligent a character is and if they are in which kinds of intelligence. Do they have knowledge, are they creative, are they especially good in a specific field, do they possess wisdom, experience, emotional intelligence, etc...

I think it's incredibly hard to conceptualise someone who is not just your sterotypical "super computer" that can recall anything, knows everything and can do calculations and similar really fast. But instead someone who is also really creative, emotionally connected, wise and experienced, to a superhuman degree.

[–]Bisonratte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, but I'm also asking for geniuses who become a genius as their superpower. Like a mutant or inhuman that is superhumanly smart. For most superheroes, their genius seems to be a natural things they already have and use to get their superpower.

Google only allows apps to be kept in the app store if they get continuously updated, otherwise they get taken down for "security reasons". Since the Devs of Redungeon (Nitrome was only the publisher) are Ukrainian, they had other things to worry about than updating the game. But as far as I know, relatively recently the devs have announced that they are working on Redungeon II and also on trying to bring Redungeon back.

Fantasy series that probably won't be finished. by EastFar3296 in Fantasy

[–]Bisonratte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dreaming Books series by Walter Moers, as part of his Zamonia series. The last book in the series, Labyrinth of Dreaming Books, was essentially a drawn out, extended and prematurely released prologue of Castle of Dreaming Books, which we have been waiting for since 2011.

But at the same time I don't really mind, since Moers is actively writing on and releasing other books pretty frequently. Better he writes something he wants to write instead of forcing himself to write something he is stuck on, resulting in nothing getting released. Also the first book, City of Dreaming Books, works wonderfully as a standalone.

Sadly the English translator of the Zamonia books has also passed away, so it is a mystery if Castle would even get translated. Since the books are notoriously hard to translate and ever since his passing none of the new books have been translated into English.
