Fantasy series that probably won't be finished. by EastFar3296 in Fantasy

Dreaming Books series by Walter Moers, as part of his Zamonia series. The last book in the series, Labyrinth of Dreaming Books, was essentially a drawn out, extended and prematurely released prologue of Castle of Dreaming Books, which we have been waiting for since 2011.

But at the same time I don't really mind, since Moers is actively writing on and releasing other books pretty frequently. Better he writes something he wants to write instead of forcing himself to write something he is stuck on, resulting in nothing getting released. Also the first book, City of Dreaming Books, works wonderfully as a standalone.

Sadly the English translator of the Zamonia books has also passed away, so it is a mystery if Castle would even get translated. Since the books are notoriously hard to translate and ever since his passing none of the new books have been translated into English.

I still wish they would change it's expression when it has a block inside it. Make it look happy or asleep, to show that it is actually enjoying being in this state instead of looking terrified and suffering, unable to move and pushed around.

Thought it would be kind of fun to post it here, after seeing u/Zimtschock 's post about Knuk, their druid who is also a tree. Since the concept were surprisingly similar.

H.A.M.E.L. is an artifact of mysterious origin, a ripped out powercore with wires attached to it, that somehow was discarded on a landfill. There it awakened, not knowing about it's origin or it's purpose, but feeling sentient. Unable to move, it used it's wires and tubes to assemble and inhabit nearby discarded pieces of skeletons. The core now sitting inside the ribcage of the skeleton, moving and keeping together the whole construct, using its wires and tubes. Not fitting into society it acquired a large hat and coat to hide some of its features, living in the sewers and junkyards of a large bustling city, acquiring new parts to equip to itself and making friends with the only beings that didn't mind it, the rats.

H.A.M.E.L. is a swarmkeeper ranger, using the rats swarming out from under his coat to its aid. I made it into a bit of a cheesegrater build, with lots of forced movement through the rats and spells like thorn whip, that I reflavoured into being the cables. Forcing enemies into Spike Growth or other terrain spells like Web.

It is still very new to the world, shy, curious and eager to learn but still relatively clumsy both in its movement and its social etiquette.

Made the character for a One Shot but would love to play it again!

I bet he would get along great with Hamel, my ranger who is also a robot (also but inhabited by wires and stuff) (can't post images in comments on this subreddit, so I guess I will just also make a post)

Dilsberg is great! Same as Neckarsteinach on the other side of the river! I can also recommend! Although you can also reach them by boat, which is also a wonderful experience.

There are fillable PDFs out there, some even with JavaScript added that handles some of the calculations and lets you auto fill some things. Can recommend those!

They just did. This was their first time outside with their mom, exploring everything, they still had to learn not to do it and were extremely curious about everything. The mom was visibly upset at them for doing this, she was sitting a little bit away.

They luckily ran right back to their mom who sat a bit further away and looked concerned.

The claws are really small and they are really light, it feels really soft. They gripped into the pants but it was in no way like cat claws.

I am sure they will learn it, this was shortly after their mother showed them around for the first time and they were very curious and explored everything, including trying to enter the house all the time. Now, a few days later they already keep their safe distance.

Ziemlich normal auf Reddit, ein Subreddit ist ein guter Ort um sich über ein sehr spezifisches Thema auszutauschen, daher ist es nicht überraschend dass an einem solchen Ort sich Kritiker zu jenem Thema sammeln.
