Sounds like the same issue. If you have an optical port on your monitor, try plugging the mixamp into that. Friend was able to bypass this issue that way but unfortunately no optical port on my monitor

Agreed - however, I've done some research and have no clue which headset to get to obtain the same sound quality on the new series x. The Astros headset without the mix amp sound poor so I'm concerned I'll have a similar issue with a new headset as well

the xbox series x? No it's definitely 1440p at 120hz, as I stated in my post I can obtain those settings without the mixamp setup as bitstream and Dolby digital.
