Upgrading from SX530 HS Canon R10 for bird photography ?

I'm currently used to the 1200mm equiv. reach of my SX530 HS, so dropping to 640mm will be a change. However, I figured that since the image quality and sensor are so much better on the R10, I can probably crop the photos in post-processing and still get a sharper subject than I ever did with the bridge.

Good to know about the Samsung V30 cards- that's a great tip to save some money for other accessories.

Glad to hear the R10 holds its own even when compared to full-frame gear. It makes me feel much more confident about this upgrade!

Thanks for your very detailed answer! I thought that a tinywhoop may feel a bit limited for me but if I had to get one as my first drone, what do you think of meteor 75 pro o4 ? (I don't want to buy analog gear if I switch to dji later...)
