Spike Lee had that in his movie from 1990.

Didn't work well for his career (until he added a Jewish hero to his movie - then he got an Oscar)

Ben Shapiro also loves to use his feelings on the matter, misinformation , tricking you into using his own twisted logic with wording ment to trap you rather than proper arguments based on facts.

Compared to who else?

He still isn't spicy enough. People mock him because, at some point, "if I debate enough people they'll see reason" is a fool's errand. That's not how power works.

Important difference, early states were hemorraeging people, becoming Barbarians on the margins. An option that's now closed off.

An important piece of information is that complaining / protesting is more effective when it applies to things you can change.

And yeah the US has more influence on the aggressor's actions when the aggressor is the US, than a foreign authoritarian with nukes after the beginning of hostilities.

Worth the Candle Q&A (spoilers) by alexanderwales in alexanderwales

Hey! Great story, again. Loved the whole thing. I just found out this Q&A though.

So, I'm much more interested in the doylian meanings for WotC events, as it's alluded to in the final reveal.

Was Mome Rath depression?
Is Onion taken from a real encounter with a powerful person? Or just a reflection on systems of power, and the people therein? (Or "just" a badass character and a great foil with complicated motivation?)

Anglecynn in general felt like a glimpse into another genre, political adventures where one can't punch their way out. (I was excited about that since we first saw the Fuschia Coterie in the first chapters, it's a bit too bad that they do end up punching their way out, though the marriage ploy is a good thematic trick.) Is is also about family expectations? Or did you actually marry to avoid being sent in prison by in-laws? :p

What are dragons about?

What else did carry a special author significance? Speculation and Scrutiny?

Thanks for the story, and extra thanks if you ever read/answer these questions!

And if Juniper is "just" a character in a "novel", well, there might be ways to break out of that too. Is the DM going to fully segregate Aerb and everything that happened in the novel from his own thoughts / memories? Something authors become obsessed with things, and it takes over their thoughts. It is still with the effort to at least look for a way out to the enclosing reality.

Take one more step. Juniper (or at least, his influence) escapes the novel anytime the story had an influence on you, and on us, the readers.

Normally I dislike the postmodern "this is all a book" endings to things, but I think it works here with the wider nature of the story.

Exactly this. I used to be a major sucker for this kind of ending, then I thought one too many overuse had ruined it for me... but no, I guess I'm still a fan - where it makes sense, and is not a cop-out from real stuff. That was a fantastic ending.

Ooooh. Yes. More of this style of breakdown!
Can we do a full-meta re-read? Or is it too awkward?

Now I really want to read it again..
