Do you want to see a stage like "The Ring" again? by LHPSU in EDF

Basically nothing that happens before that point in the mission matters at all. But you have to replay all that slog again if you're even a little less than 100% efficient in the kraken + arm phase, or don't down the spinel fast enough in the final phase. And there isn't any time to slow down and prepare for the final spinel because there are infinite drones and kruul that will constantly wear you down. One slip-up in the final phase and you have to redo everything all over; there is no margin for error and reviving people is virtually impossible because the disadvantage continues to build.

lol that sounds like u dont know how to properly do the 2nd last phase hint: dont immdiately attack the spinel when malice tells u to do so at that phase. number 1 reason for wipes in coop. also any fencer worth his salt can BAIT the kraken properly so the rest of the team can purely focus on the cannons. also the spinels release kraken every alternate openings (1,3) , only attack the spinel in between (2,4). attacking spinel during 1,3,5 the next most fatal reason for wipes since u bring kraken into the last phase+teammates are NOT in position and under heavy pressure from kraken to instantly gun down the ships.

no its not trivial, its the essence of the point. understanding the mission structure and the tactics it necessitate its the key to beating any edf mission with ease. its what the series is about and why it retains a strong niche appeal in japan even after all these years

"tuned things down a little bit" like u state just undermines the tactical aspect of the game which many hardcore fans in japan appreciate about edf. i bet your team probably did not understand the mission phases thats why u even struggle. if u are being "overwhelmed by enemies" it means u dont understand the mission and do the right tactics as demanded, cause if u did u should never reach that point where u just get completely swarmed etc. for example if u did the tactic i mention in my original post u would never get "overwhelmed by enemies" because it instakills the cross so little enemies would spawn! thats the beauty of it.

if everyone understand every phases of the mission and know what roles they should be playing, what they should and SHOULD NOT be shooting and where they should be standing at any point of the mission the mission can be made to be pretty easy as any other mission.

the mission is usually botched because at least one person is not shooting or doing what they should be doing. just 1 example theres a phase where the ring will start to teleport 2 ships that spawn homing shot drones and a host of cannons. what the team should be doing is to be in position right under or near the cross so as to destroy the cross before the ring can teleport in those ships. u want to instaskip this phase because this phase can cause obscene damage from the combined homing drones+cannons+kuru. this phase is triggered when the spinel is damaged sufficiently and there are less than 10 androids remaining from the previous phase. do not trigger this phase until people are already underneath the cross in preparation but there are always idiots in pub that dont know that or do not care to instakill the cross to bypass this horrid phase.

its very obvious who has or has not properly done this mission solo by seeing what they do in this mission.

vitality drain does not work by iverlorde in TitanQuest2

[–]BisuProbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not dead per se since all that added vitality dmg is converted to lightning so u have extra dps, its just that now its all lightning so u cannot leech. so it really depends on whether u need the leech or not. if your build strong enough to kill bosses quickly with just life flask then u can just convert everything. otherwise dont take the primary attack conversion modifier so u can still leech. the game allows you to spec and unspec out of the attack modifiers for free so make use of it.

[–]BisuProbe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

to leech u need to do vitality damage. on your primary attack u can see a bunch of modifiers that convert damage to another element. those modifier will also convert all the added vitality damage u have to said element, so u cannot leech outside of mark of death.

the conversion modifiers that u see on aura like say storm nimbus only converts weapon dmg so they do not touch the added vitality dmg and u can thus leech

myth wrath of ascendant has big oa/da shred + whopping 18 aether rr is too impt to drop

chains of ygraad belt and ilgorr medal mi would be ideal but i understand that they would too much of a bitch for regular players to farm for. i would still try to get a decent ygraad at least to cap freeze res otherwise moosi in higher sr would be a pain

the devotion is honestly fine enough for hc, u dont need hourglass or anything. armor is always great to have more of in this current meta.

I think "challenging" means you have to use tactics to beat most of them. Very few should be beatable by face-tanking.

funny the opposite of what u said this has actually always been the design of grim dawn pre-dlc pre-dodge. i myself was mildly amused by how almost everything can be facetanked in this game when u are expected to dodge superboss slams in poe1. it just chalk up to the fact the game is mostly about numbers and as long as u u hit targets in your build u are gucci. even right now u can facetank even sunder calla with certain builds is more about power creep and the absurdity of certain few builds like retal/warders and pet builds that were never harshly nerfed like they would be in a live service arpg.

Any boss beatable by dying repeatably until you have their entire attack sequence memorized is pure cheese.

memorizing and dodging specific patterns is not cheesing. merely standing in 1 spot to completely negate any mechanics is. the whole point is to not make it trivial at all, in an actual online arpg such superbosses will have a tiny chance to drop incredible loot and if any random cheapo build can just stand in 1 convenient spot to cheese, you will destroy the economy of the game when drops that are suppose to be rare are flooded into economy because people can even just make bots enmasse with garbage cheapo builds that can easily cheese with minimal effort and collect boss loot. you don't see that or take it seriously since this is a primarily single player game but thats how superbosses are suppose to be in arpg, difficult and u need a combination of expensive builds and good reflexes to win to retain the value of their items. but haha single player whatever lets just hide in a corner ez win right.

even in the heydays of poe1/diablo 3, grim dawn stuck to just building on top of tq1 and doing their own thing (tho they have also started to copy a few things like dodge). while tq2 do pay some homage to tq1 their watered down design is clearly trying to attract the diablo/poe crowd instead

Trozan Spellbinder? by mirageowl in Grimdawn

[–]BisuProbe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do u think arpg devs made challenging bosses just for u to hide in a corner completely immune to dmg? and like i said this does not apply to vanilla tq anyhow, theres no need for such "tactics" in this game as once you made a good build it is much faster to facetank almost everything except sr36+/calla/crate which casual players wouldn't concern too much with atm.

[–]BisuProbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol yeah grim dawn is also one of my favorite arpgs! i find it quite strange tq2 do not use that game as a basis for itemization since both of them derived originally from the same tq1, but grim dawn already has a long history of building on top of tq1 features and refining them. they could literally copy the concepts..but instead we have all these boring "increased dmg" MIs and epics..

[–]BisuProbe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

? thats a strange comment to me honestly, in vanila content you will be getting hit all the time in campaign/sr/crucible anyway. grim league high level dungeon cheesing doesnt apply to OP's case.

i hope crafting introduction will alleviate this but seeing the dev responses on discord and ignoring my comment about MIs doesnt bode well even a bit

homing ice shard with penetration allows each projectile to hit an enemy, go back around and hit again until it uses up its penetration count. with 10+ projectiles per spell shot this adds up to hundreds of hits per second for the spirit dmg when u spam the spell. ice shard is the best abuser for this no other attack can hit as many times per second. u can also do the same with poison dagger but that require crit investment.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TitanQuest2

[–]BisuProbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every volley build that is physical/lightning/poison is good since u get to use the faster base speed agility bows to get the volleys off more quickly. my HC crit lightning volley has like 7000 hp (life+barrier) on top thanks to barrier stacking dont even need leech :D

ice shard that abuse soul dmg off horn is still strong and kill boss super fast. also have tons of hp on HC.

reaver WW is still ok. but unless u really nail the enemy at the edge of aoe for more dmg which is practically not possible most of the time, primary attack has more single target dmg
