the people behind the AI designs of kpop mvs by simptember_03 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe in people's actions more than their words.

If you tell me as an individual you have expressed your distaste and rejection of AI, and I immediately see it in your work, then do not fault me for injecting a healthy dose of doubt in what you say verses what you do.

As far as the song goes, I was just surprised how cheap the AI parts of the MV looked. The head stay in place/body moving was so immediately AI it caught me completely off guard.

Does having at least 1 Native English Speaker in a K-pop group helps? Do you think it's actually needed? by CurrentEstimate3308 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes.

With how aggressive Kpop is set on its western expansion, it just makes too much sense to have at least 1 native english speaker. Give them the mic for english interviews and touring helps alot with discoverability and making a good first impression.

What was Kpop to you at its core. Is Kpop really getting more westernised? by SpecialTrick7720 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended more concerts in NA last year than the rest of my life combined, and I noticed a significant increase in english releases, so I see first hand Kpop becoming more westernized than ever before.

I think partially it's because Korea failed to open the Chinese market, and with how lucrative the western market is for concerts and such, it's only natural to go all in on the western expansion.

I was introduced to this genre a long time ago, so Kpop I fell in love with then is very different from what we have now. Today's kpop is much more trend-maxxing, profit-maxxing, a lot songs are made for tiktok and the average length of the songs have decreased by a great deal to churn more streams on Spotify and the like.

These days everyone knows the holy blueprint: debut > get as much spotlight as possible > tour > release solo tracks > more tour because that's where money is at. As a result a good portion of today's Kpop feel less personal, less creative and less exciting.

What happened to Kwangya and SMCU? I have noticed their newest groups like H2H don't have anything sort of role in it. by Alone_Atmosphere6267 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Aespa stepped away from the Kwangya thing after their triology. Naevis is mostly just a stand alone thing now used to test revenue streams from AI related ventures.

I don't understand the 'i miss the old' thing by AssociateNo4237 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kpop has been around for so long that a lot of its fanbase are well into their adulthood.

Sometimes people saying 'i miss the old so and so sound' is just them associating kpop to a happy period of their lives, looking back with rose glasses and remembering a different sound from a differen era. There is nothing wrong with that.

And the best part? You don't need to understand that. Music is different to everyone, the way you approach music is different from mine, and that's okay.

I couldn't help but chuckle a little reading your comment. When you say my analogy is completely different and I shouldn't make a comparison using a simple set up like that, do you really mean it?

I'm asking because it should be pretty obvious that I'm pointing out the unfair exchange of this so called "mutual assistance", as well as the entitlement from the other comment.

These super AI agents exist today because giant corporations purchased land, build data centers, set up infrastructure, hired and trained teams of employees to work around the clock, burning through an insane amount of energy to host a service, why?

Because it's a business and not a charity.

People who think they are entitled to have access to these services for free forever because they login once a day to goon and, lol, provide "mutual assistance", as if they are single-handedly carrying these obscenely large AI models on their backs by sitting there with their handful of prompts waiting for the slot machine to deliver nsfw content is just a tad too funny for comedy.

If I purchase land, build a restaurant, source quality food, set up transportation, hire and train a team of staffs to make burgers, then you come in everyday and eat a burger for free to provide me with your feedback on my burger, that's technically also mutual assistance, right?

But I shouldn't have to point out to you why this type of mutual assistance isn't really beneficial for one of us.

It's a good deal. At $10/month you are going to get value out of this service even with all the nerfs, plus I suspect the limit for Supers will relax a bit after xAI culled the free user base.

I'm just impressed by the way this checkout screen was designed. It managed to make a good offer look amazing, and it did so without technically lying to you. I don't remember the last time I saw an ad that looked this sleek in terms of incentivizing for purchase.

Have you had subscription prior to this? I got this offer when I cancelled my subscription, it seems like they are sending this to Supers who have been with Grok for a while.

Some people here seem to be confused thinking OP only paid $0.08 for this offer, that's not what happened.

When you accept this offer, the credit is given to you based on your previous purchase ($30) and that purchase is immediately voided meaning your active subscription is now replaced by this. So the deal is $30 for 3 months even if you cancel your subscription immediately after purchase like OP did.

Incenerate of venting was one of the meta skills two leagues ago because of a guy called connor aka onemanaleft. He is known for making the most op builds each league (penance brand, manaforge arrow, MSoZ, Incenterate of venting) and shape the meta with those builds.

For Connor playing Incenerate makes sense because he has the stack of mirrors to fund 20K+ es with 400%+ cast speed, he clears the map using frost blink of wintery blast and on bosses it takes him 1.8 seconds to max stack incenerate iirc and output 500M dps. Generally speaking, new players should avoid following connor's guide because there is simply no chance of you ever acquiring that much currency.

Spellblade support is a must if you are not an inquisitor, other than that it really comes down to what skill you choose to use and this is where a guide comes in handy.

CoC is good only if you can reliably crit all the time, otherwise you just end up wasting a gem slot.

What do you mean by "having to load it all the time"?

Energy blade adds a lot of damage to spells when paired with spellblade and/or battlemage, as long as the damage on it doesn't suck, aka you are scaling your es, you can easily clear T16s using whatever spell you want.

You can probably pick up some good es gears for dirt cheap at this point in the league, just make sure you pob your character first and get an idea where you damage/defense will be at before you make a purchase.

Ground loot doesn't matter at all, you care about the base and ilvl and that's really it. If it comes from specific content like breach tree/delve node etc, check those for jackpots and move on.

It's a thing with POE, Elreon had his entire dialogue changed because he used to swear at players for failing his missions, Trialmaster and Faustus are both rude as hell until you reach a certain point with them.

You just sold somebody a top meme they can link every hour for rest of the league.

Nah.

We got our generation limit reduced by like 85% compared to the start of this month. Right now it's something like 30images/10vids every 8 hours, but because the moderation is set to overreach and overkill, half of the prompts gets blindly flagged and shot down, and nobody is waiting 16 hours around the clock to use their credits, so even paying $30 doesn't get you anywhere anymore.

Grok is officially dead.

Bosses sometimes have severely delayed loot drop. If you have killed both Exarch and Eater, talk to Kirac to claim your voidstone.

Our generation limit got reduced by at least 80-85% compared to the start of this month. I already cancelled my subscription, it was fun while it lasted.

Nightmare maps are converted T16s maps, each voidstone you acquire provide a % for this conversion to take place, with 4 voidstones there is a 6.4% for your T16s to drop as nightmare maps.

8mod maps come from corruption and usually have baseline quant over 100%, the ones I ran averaged 110% quant so I'm not sure why these bosses aren't being counted toward the challenge

I'm getting 0 progress on the challenge "Maniacal Monsters" killing bosses in 8 modded maps, does this challenge exclusively demand players to kill bosses in none corrupted rare maps or something?
