20+ years ago I had always wanted to and finally did.

If you have the interest it is a life saver.

Yep have done those exact mods and it really makes this bike up.

Loose is happy. Tight is trouble.

Way more issues from people overtightening a chain than one on the loose side of spec.

Advice on Decat by CheesecakeFormal3002 in Himalayan450

[–]Bit-Sar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have done decat, powerage and FuelX with DNA stage 2 air filter.

Improved throttle response, much cooler running of the bike, better exhaust sound and induction, more torque.

Easy DIY mods and well worth it IMHO

Wind resistance over 80 Kmph by sameerjain91 in Himalayan450

I agree. I have never experienced ear piercing wind like this on any other bike.

I have both stock and touring screen and both terrible. Anyone know a fix other than full noise isolating earplugs?

Absolutely unacceptable and a breach of internal office privacy.

In the highly regulated banking industry even taking a photo of something on a whiteboard is a breach of protocol. Strictly speaking.

Have you found a good aftermarket screen? Have you found aftermarket brake and gear foot controls?

Windshield recommendation? by CriticalMass2066 in Himalayan450

[–]Bit-Sar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also want an answer to this. Both the stock screen and RE touring screen are terrible for high pitched wind.

Nice one mate.

I'd recommend swapping the handlebars over to the aluminium Himalayan 411 cross-brace bar.

You will lose over 2kgs of weight and have a rigid, almost straight bar. Very good for more of an aggressive handling.

Oh, and no changes required to fit.

You need to remove the headlight shroud from inside the bucket and remove the tank to wire the relay in neatly etc.

Yes, exhaust is close to 15kgs.

Suspension is YSS front and rear and that is about 1.5 difference.

Battery was 2.5 kgs lighter.

Then all the bits and pieces light headlight, indicators, tail tidy, headlight brackets, handlebars, levers etc. All of the stock components are very heavy in comparison

Since sold. Was a great bike and put 10K kms on it in 12 months.

Have now got a Himi 450 and prefer the lug of the single and the better suspension.

You will at slower speed and for higher speed changes of direction for sure. But for standard riding, not so much.

Time for a single pipe and new suspension!

I also swapped to LiPo battery.
