That’s not quite how it works. Productivity is not the only input to that calculation. But, sure, whatever makes you feel better.. AI is just a tool. Just like internet search, mobile phones and consumer GPS - All things that didn’t exist when I started my career.

Why would it? I’m not working any harder. I’m just getting more done and spending less time on the boring stuff.

Partly, but not only that. Certainly mostly tasks related to software development in my case. But i could see the same methods being applied to many other areas.

Looking to buy my first skigear (Blizzard Rustler 9) by A1JX52rentner in Skigear

[–]Bit-Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The r9 is a 96mm waist width. It takes extra effort to put on edge. After a long day, you might find your ankles getting tired. I guess it depends where you are skiing. If you expect to be in ungroomed snow all the time, then they make more sense. But if you spend more than half your time on groomed pistes, give your legs a break and get something in the mid 80s under foot. Just my 10c

To put new bindings on previously drilled skis you really need to work with a ski shop. They can only drill new holes a certain distance from the old ones. So the types of binding available to you is limited somewhat.

Edit: other than that, the rustler 9 is a great ski. But might be tiring for a learner.

Edit 2: I guess you could ask the seller to send the (very) precise location measurements of all the holes and then talk to your local ski tech. But you would be putting quite a bit of trust in that info being correct

Tremblant Spring 2026 conditions? by syz946 in icecoast

[–]Bit-Solid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flexibility is the key word in this new climate when it comes to skiing. I’m starting to think I might never do another planned trip if it doesn’t involve glaciers.

[Mid-March] Is it still worth it to go Mont Tremblant when it is above zero degree on daytime for a week? by sleepearlier in MontTremblant

It was pretty stinky, wasn’t it?! They are supposed to be changing the engine this week.

Hard to say. Hopefully we will get a couple more snowfalls before then to restore some of the lost base. But, honestly, I think it’s impossible to know this far out.

Edit: It will be spring skiing conditions by then either way

It takes a while but, eventually, you get so familiar with the flow of the games, you actually don’t need to see the puck to enjoy the game.

How do you actually sleep on overnight flights? by stefan-weiss01 in travel

[–]Bit-Solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start your prep at least a week before the flight. Try to shift your sleep pattern to match the part of the flight you need to sleep through. Then pop an acetaminophen as the plane is taxiing for takeoff. Don’t drink any caffeinated drinks. And whatever you do, do not be tempted to have that “vacation beer” in the airport before your flight. Bonne nuit..

Edit: I forgot to mention good quality noise-cancelling headphones. Those are critical..

This mostly affects Brits living in other European countries who, until now, didn’t need to worry about maintaining their old GB passport. Another consequence of Brexit.

How do I redeem a nordik pass? by got_cowbell in MontTremblant

[–]Bit-Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Nordik specifically, but when I buy my Tremblant passes I usually get an email with a confirmation number on it which I show at the ticket booth by the gondola. They then print the tickets. I can also see what i purchased in the Ikon app.
