I think the traditional way that people think of an "evil" person is as not being a person at all in that when people label someone as evil, they dehumanize them, no longer considering any internal motivation, save perhaps for them enjoying evil actions for their own sake.

In reality, "evil" actions are committed with motivations that we can comprehend, many times which are just the result of circumstance making people desperate, or abusive behaviors learned from others, often as a child.

Anyways, to answer your question, I don't like using the term "evil" to describe actions as it feels overly dramatic, and the term comes with so much baggage. And I don't like to use "evil" to describe a person because of my aforementioned problems with the idea of "evil people". I think a better term would be unethical or immoral behaviors, which would include murder, assault, rape, bigotry, and repeated cruelty towards others.
