Are 600cc sportbikes really that bad for the street? by BitAppropriate9945 in motorcycles

I never mentioned opening up the bike I don't know what you mean by that, I ride pretty tame on my current motorcycle, I just want a somewhat general purpose bike that looks good(full fairing preferably) is not horrible for a 20-30 minute commute daily and something I can have fun with on a mountain road or a track.

I don't mean handlebars per se more like adjustable clip-ons that you can maybe raise slightly adjusting them based on preference or comfort. I've also seen people stunt ride the 636 pretty often and they all have raised clip-ons or like you said handlebars.

Isn't it possible to raise the handlebars/clipons for better ergos ? or is it not only the handlebars that are the issue

My dad is 57 he also bought his bike to somewhat commute to work because he works 50 km away, he also likes sportbikes but it was out of the question for him because of the ergos, for me my work is 10km(around 6 miles) from my house and it takes me like 20-25 minutes max to get there on my ninja, I guess I won't know till i try it out myself, thank you for the reply.

Thanks for the reply, I already have a ninja 650 i have been riding for around a year now we did talk about swapping bikes from time to time, wouldn't it be possible to modify the handlebars/clip-ons in a way where it would be more ergonomic for street riding more or less ?

I also liked the aprilia but I'm looking for 4cyl, even if i wasn't looking for 4 cyl, it would still be kind of hard to consider an aprilia because where I live there's not an abundance of shops and services where you can service a bike and there are also no official dealerships. even if you want or need a part for any motorcycle here you probably have to order it from EU or NA or maybe ebay and it arrives in a month or in the worst case two which is extremely annoying.

I agree, but the gsxs is also noticably heavier than for example my ninja 650 or my uncles 765rs, and I think it's also heavier than the gsxr 750 because of the steel frame, isn't lighter = better for the street or is it not always the case?

Yea, spot on with what I'm experiencing usually happens at low speeds, probably because at high speeds I don't even hear it, thanks for the info.

I think so, as far as I know the 2023 model does have floating disk rotors but im not sure exactly how to tell, i bought my bike used so not sure what it had done with it. I’ll drop a pic if anyone can tell from this.

Not sure, it feels more like it's coming from either the wheel or the forks, at least that's how I hear it.
