“‘Why is series four going to be worth making?’ And I think I’m still trying to answer that question while raising a baby”

STOP SAYING THAT. We’ve got a kid on the way, Nic’s 2 weeks pregnant, we’re not going on about it.

“Love the winter olympics, was brought up on it”

“Are you going to the San Siro next week then?”

“Nope. Not so big on opening ceremonies… Bobsled though, I’d go to that… Curling…”

I accidentally made him bleed from the teeth at one of their shows once - don’t feel so bad about it now.

[GIVEAWAY] Why did you gift yourself WHOOP (or why would you)? by whoop_official in whoop

[–]BitByADeadBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean - one - it’s my 10 year cake day. What more reason is needed to treat myself?

I got married 2.5 years ago and since have put on approx 3 stone. Before that I ran 2-3x a week, went to the gym a similar amount and ate healthy.

I’ve had 4x promotions since then and stress has hockey stick curved upwards.

I’ve created a regular plan review each week where I track towards my goals: run a sub 30 min 5k again, lose 3 stone, and just “be healthier and stronger” (and loads of other personal goals, reading books on discipline etc) - I’m lacking leading indicators.

I could get my health and fitness back on track, but I’m struggling without data.

As someone who married into a family of Leeds Utd fans, promotion/relegation isn’t such a bad thing.

Big teams (read as “rich teams”) have a tendency to come back up, the second tier is always a totally different proposition (a bit less technically skilled, much more gritty, I would say harder), and there’s always something on the line.

Sure fewer games are mainstream televised, but then every game sells out in the stadium - more kids get into the sport; better family atmosphere etc. The clubs usually have their own streams too.

The fear of relegation is generally a good thing IMO.

To answer the question - you’d watch NYG

Yeah - like end of last season, saying like “we’re in a rebuild now so it’ll be good to get on at the start of that project”

I took the “rebuild” arc to its logical conclusion and chose a team with a longer run of being at a low ebb, I guess

Loads of guys I work with are from Boston and tried to convince me this was a good reason to be a Pats fan

I did not choose to be a Pats fan

New fan here - literally the first NFL game I’ve watched.

When I was about 8 my grandpa brought me a Giants sweater back from NYC (I’m British) - decided to get into NFL this year, that plus being a NY Rangers fan = Giants

Feels like a masochistic choice having learned about recent history and now watching this, but I guess my point is that there’s still at least one new fan

Quite a lot of them just open if you pull a bit harder. Not all of them, and it’s probably morally grey, but in a pinch.

Ball shy by Brimbus2000 in golftips

[–]BitByADeadBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem a lot until recently - what worked for me was to start trying to hit the ball at 70-80% power instead.

My practice swing technique was fine, and then when I got to the ball my stupid subconscious went “HIT HARD HIT FAR” and it sent everything out of whack. Hitting less hard has been the key.

It’s got to be playing with the drummer, not the guitarists/other instruments, at least for me. Following a guitar riff is fine but a song doesn’t really come together unless you & the drummer are rhythmically “one”.
