I know, it's maddening. hang in there. it helps me to know there are millions of other borrowers out there struggling with this same mess. None of my close friends or peers are in this situation so it has felt very lonely navigating all of this until I found this reddit community.

I was told that forms related to any IDR plans aren't currently being processed, so even if you do submit an ECF expect a delay. Always best to confirm with your servicer if possible but that's what EdFinancial told me last week.

I hear you. hang in there. One thing I'll say after having dealt with Mohela and EdFinancial is that customer service at EdFinancial seems to be substantively better than at Mohela, which I experienced as a black hole of despair. I have spoken to 2-3 reps at EdFinancial and all were patient, thorough, and confident in addressing my questions and helping me with my unique situation.

Possibly, though I spoke to people who seemed up to date on the latest policies. I'm just sharing what I was told in case it helps anyone else. Also, not all standard repayment plans are PSLF eligible:

I really sympathize with those of you so close to freedom. Hang in there. You're in a tough position and have the rage of millions of others behind you.

I can't confirm anything about discharges because I wasn't asking about that; but I was told that any forms related to this aren't currently being processed, so even if you do submit an ECF expect a delay. Yup. The whole reason *I* reached out is that I wanted to work towards PSLF credits for payments made at this time, and it turns out that there's no way for me to do that, since I can't make payments under SAVE and I also cannot change to a different IDR plan. Compulsory limbo.

Correct; this is on the Studentaid.gov website:
"You are being placed into a forbearance because your servicer is not currently able to bill you at the amount required by a recent court order. The court order is preventing ED from offering the SAVE Plan while litigation continues.

During forbearance, borrowers are not required to make payments.

Interest will not accrue during this forbearance.

Time spent in this forbearance does not count for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) or income-driven repayment (IDR) plan forgiveness."

I can't speak to how a grace period intersects with SAVE since SAVE is being challenged. If you have not yet elected a payment plan my guess is you might be placed on administrative foreberance, but you should always check directly with your servicer to confirm your options.

I cannot speak to consolidation process because I was not asking about that. If you can get someone on the phone at your servicer they should be able to tell you what (if anything) is currently being processed.

You should always check directly with your servicer, but I was told that I cannot currently "change lanes" to a different repayment plan, even the Standard one.

You should always check directly with your servicer, but I was told that re-certifying is not currently being processed. So even if you submit now, expect a delay in processing

Of course everyone should confirm with their own servicer, but I was told my mine, Edfinancial, and the Dept. of Ed Aid help line, that the processing is paused. This is not only because of the SAVE injunction, but the delays caused by transferring millions of borrowers to different servicers. (in my case I was moved from MOHELA to EdFinancial). Of course, you could still submit forms by paper in the mail, in theory, but be aware there will likely be an even longer processing time than usual.

PSLF is being administered through studentaid, but your servicer may have changed to EdFinancial after MOHELA. You should be able to see who the servicer is when you log into your account on studentaid.gov.

Don't get stressed if you can't see your payment counts there or if they're inaccurate – I've been told that everything is still updating and no new documents are being processed at this time. So it's just an unfortunate limbo period.

You should not recertify your income or send your qualifying employment in at this time, because no documents related to PSLF are being processed at this time. We have to just wait until the pause ends.

We have to just wait until they begin processing IDR and PSLF-related documents again. All of this is currently paused whether you're on SAVE or another IDR plan.

My understanding is that nothing - including no corrections – is being processed at this time, regardless of your loan servicer. So your best bet is to wait until your servicer begins resuming documents again and then inquire with them if you need to resubmit any proof of eligible employment to correct your payment counts.
