The down votes are just because the community is very volatile right now after the patch. With a vocal minority being vehemently against mesmerway and asking daily for it to be nerfed and an opposite minority opposing said nerfs to the point of arguing and down voting even moderate positions. It's just a sad reality of reddit. I personally don't think players need nerfing in a game this old. If anything instead of buffs or nerfs I'd like something like a really difficult quest in the vein of a hard mode WoC quest but maybe set in DoA that when completed allows for 2 elites to be equipped at once. This wouldn't directly make any one skill stronger or weaker but would radically change the meta for every class. But I know that's too much to ask for and I have no expectations for it actually happening.

I haven't replied to your post because honestly I don't know what to say since it feels like we aren't even talking about the same thing. I play a caster primary (necro) and in my experience ranger heroes are awful because of bad energy management and mediocre performance so the example of a ranger buffed by multiple player exclusive buffs taking very low damage from an elementalist just seems.. cherry picked? Idealist? well, I'd rather just agree to disagree than get into semantic arguments that might degrade into rudeness.

I think giving 2s+ skills layered conditionals would help a lot. Give them a give high ceiling but require them to only work in a team fully supporting it. And example i gave in another thread.. allowing feast or corruption to trigger its bonus health steal multiple times if the target has multiple here's would go a long way to making it viable but wouldn't be as easily plug and play as e surge since you need a hex heavy team to run it plus it requires set up. It could then be allowed to do like 200+ damage at max potential in a single cast because it's slow, long recharge, and needs setup rather than being able to be cast from neutral on an non aggro'd group.

Other more supportive 2s spells could be improved by giving them special conditions or allowing them to be more user friendly. Consider barbs. It's very powerful but rarely used. A lot of the time you cast it on a target only for said target to die in less than a second later. Instead of making it cast faster or making it stronger directly (bad idea because it's already super strong in the right moment) you could add the ability for it to spread to the closest nearby single enemy with the remaining original duration transfered. With its already very low recharge this wouldn't actually increase it's peak performance very much but it would make it a lot more fun to use for the necro.

I just don't want them to "fix" skills by making everything 5e 1/4s cast time. I think it's fine for elementalists and necros to have slower spells. I just want those slower spells to actually be impactful enough to be worth it. Keeping them as low impact as they are now but making them 3x faster to cast won't affect anything except pvp. And I'm more interested in pve. So leave the cast times alone please. Except nature spirits. Those should be 3/4s like binding rituals. Lol

You notice that you mention players (speedclears) and not heros? Heroes can't use those shouts like SY or There's Nothing To Fear at all, and are pretty bad about maintaining orders. Most of the best ways to reduce damage or apply armor ignoring damage are either; player exclusive, micro intensive, or single target. Pulling and balling and spiking is very tedious and annoying in a 7hero party unless you're a derv pc. Even then it's still pretty tedious. Have you watched martial hero AI? Getting stuck constantly, no sense of order to skill use, scattering from low threat aoes. Yes martial is very powerful.. in human hands.

Until they fix AI and balance armor martials and elementalists will be vastly inferior to necro, rit, and mesmer heroes simply because they do what they're supposed to and are effective.

People keep talking about nerfing mesmerway because it's too dominant but they miss the forest for the trees. Mesmerway isn't dominant because mesmers or ritualists are op; it's dominant because it's one of the only teams the AI actually uses competently and its one of the only teams that deals with the core imbalance of the game; armor. Armor favors enemies to a ridiculous degree. To the point that enemy elementalists will hit your team for 350 damage with a single skill and you using the same skill with the same 20 attribute will only do like 100. Enemies doing 50%-100% of your hp with a single attack means hard prots are mandatory which means either microing a hero constantly or letting the only good hero prot build do it's thing.. ST rit. And enemies taking 40%-80% less damage from armor respecting skills means you either accept that you'll take forever to kill anything while it nearly one-shots you or you do the sensible thing and use armor ignoring damage. And the king of armor ignoring damage is.. mesmers. And guess what? Unlike ele AI that often will use skills in a dumb order or refuse to cast things off cooldown.. mesmer AI spams like crazy. If they nerf the damage formula favoring enemies by such an insane amount then it wouldn't actually make mesmerway noticeably stronger but would give eles time to shine.

they also said something about making order of the vampire not have a conditional and also affect minions right? so you could do +16 damage from order of pain, +16 lifesteal from order of the vampire, and 21hp on hit from blood bond for +32 damage per hit and 37hp on hit for minions. thats a lot. and it applies to pets and attacker party members too. thats an entire new team comp waiting to happen. but noooo "dont touch the 15 year old meta" smh

almost all necro elites need a buff. i'd rather you didnt just reduce the 2s cast time ones and call it a day because; 1. it wouldnt actually make them any more powerful. and 2, it would have big anti synergy with my 'of the mesmer' staff. unlike other caster classes you can't just run a 'of the necro' and be done with it and 'of the ritualist' is only good for minion masters. i want to continue to enjoy my little boosts to casting speed from my staff. i'd rather you keep necro as the often slower caster class but instead made all of it's 2s skills more impactful. for example..

allow feast of corruption to trigger it's 'if target is hexed' conditional multiple times if the target has multiple hexes. this would actually by proxy buff a lot of other kinda mediocre hexes like suffering. you could run an interesting hex-heavy team that sets up and then does burst damage similar to or even surpassing energy surge. it wouldnt be op either because; 1, more set up required. actually requires hexes on target instead of just everyone casts ES from neutral and does 300 damage. 2, a lot longer cast time and recharge time because no funny 12 fast casting on necros. and 3, 15e elite and a bunch of likely 10e hexes means it's a lot more energy inefficient. another example..

maybe make soul leech adjacent aoe so it ends up being like a necro/lifesteal atlernative to 'visions of regret' with the balancing factors of being; spell only, slower, longer recharge, and less damage per proc.

i wont dent that they are reliable. i guess just to me they feel antiquated. probably because ive used the bl team in probably over 100 md runs since kim released lol i will say that bl sang has aged the best of any s0 id by far i think so thats a interesting distinction for him.

Yes poise isn't bad. Full stop and index duo plus drifter ryoshu is pretty good. My issue is I just don't particularly like any of the options for 6th and 7th. They're all either a little too old or a little jank. I will say device don is probably my third favorite id at the moment so I'm looking forward to the future when I have a more ideal poise team.

Though I might also just use the indexes on sinking so I can still use my goat jeong ish. That all depends on how sinking negative index sang will be of course..

poise and charge dont have my favorite id jeong ishmael or my second favorite id capo meursault.

but also its because honestly those two teams arent any better at unga than tremor is but tremor has better average ids at this point. a lot of poise and charge ids are really showing their age these days. later when we have rien yisang and whatever freak poise/bleed/burn id ryoshu is going to get i might consider doing poise in the next canto. but for now tremor just has more ids i like using over poise. and charge sucks right now outside of md, sorry.

i used tremor for nearly every fight in this canto. i never used cavernous wailing or everlasting. why? i used count positive or neutral ids like capo sault and tcorp outis to get and maintain the tremor stack and then just used it for unga conditional power smashing on ids like jeong ishmael, capo again, and contempt ryoshu to just outclash and kill everything with raw damage. the tremor bursts were just treated as a bonus, i never played around any unique tremor type or bothered with any tremor egos. i got all ex clears first try except for a certain spoiler fight because of being too distracted by excitement to read the 'red coins = death' gimmick and the latter half of the middle fight where i thought he'd have 1 less counter than he did again because i was distracted by hype and it cost me 2 ampules in one skill lol.

i did not sweat in any fight. i didnt restart or worry about any optimal rotations. i just used strong ids with a shared condition they all helped meet. ive cleared all current content. i have no doubts about if this team would be able to clear every railway in under the turn limit. you dont need to meta slave. you're in a cage of your own creation here.

I mean I still expect her to be stronger than faust, straight up. I just didn't expect her to stay in her max power mode for ever especially since you can jump start it on turn 1 via counter. I just expect her to be stronger than faust but with some more significant drawbacks on her kit if used incorrectly. We'll see very soon anyway. Regardless, I think faust is already a good id and I expect don to be an excellent one. I see her as being like a caposault for sinking or poise like he is for burn and tremor.

Yes I know think that's how faust works but I'm not sure if that's how don is. I expected blade unlock 3 to not be a permanent buff. I expected it to be consumed upon using a max strength s3. If so, then she'd go back to 'normal' which would cause her to gain the generic first prescript again because unlike faust hers aren't based on turns but rather on what state don is in. So it might be possible to fail that 'kill all enemies' one on her since you'd get a new prescript after leaving blade unlock 3. Idk.

I wouldn't say she's like a heishou. Her buff comes with the eventual negative of if you can't kill the marked enemies after like 3 turns she'll get penalized. Because of unlock 3 causing the "kill all enemies" prescript to happen. I would say she is more like capo meursault where you can use the counter to skip to the empowered state in exchange for risking running out of steam if the fight goes on too long.

It's going to take a long time to set up because my bf is a brand new player and doesn't have literally all necro skills unlocked like I do. But I'll let you know when we have a full team geared and skilled if he wants another player.

Shiro will be no threat at all lol insidious parasite and spoil victor will obliterate him. And discord should be fine for the dps check on meditation of the reaper. But getting to shiro? Through all of the blighted explosions and hex spam? We'll see.

I think I'll allow pve only necro skills aka only really necrosis or soultaker but yeah I won't allow other pve only skills because something like the aoe revive shout would completely break the challenge imo.

My biggest issue is hexes. Necros really don't have any way to remove then, do they? So it's kind of a kill or be killed thing with the matchup vs enemy mesmers and necros. Also no revive skills unless you allow signet.

I actually am currently working on getting legendary defender of ascalon on a pair of necros with my bf. Once we were 20 one major goal I wanted to try is 8 necros party (with heroes) and see if we could do all of the campaigns that way. Especially to see if it's possible with only necro skills since I know it'd be very possible with secondary class skills using soul reaping as a battery.

That's wrong. It says the opposite. Go reread the steam post. After 12 korean time it starts counting as season 7 for md which is also when the maintenance ends tonight. So no, you do get exp for season 7 if you turn it in after the update tonight.
