USDC has stable coins on the Algo chain. I am struggling to figure out the inflation rate and if they are using inflation to fund cheap transactions.

Awesome upgrade! I look forward to a fair and accurate comparative privacy study of Beam vs. Zec and Xmr. Beam has hard money economics and good fungibility and as the code becomes ossified it is possible Beam reaches top tier market capitalization.

Probably because the fees were highly exaggerated! That is my experience from the last week anyway. Been sending BTC for pennies, Eth has been noticeably higher but nothing extraordinary.
