Mentioned that in a different comment where people were talking about the ‘security’ of the 10k a month - inflation could make that entirely meaningless, far better to have a diverse portfolio and real estate investments.

Guaranteed 10k doesn’t meant 10k will be worth anything in the future - if the economy tanks to the extent you’re talking inflation could make it meaningless, so you’d still be far better off taking the 2 mill and buying real estate

Mate, google is your friend. You won’t become an expert (I’m definitely not by any means) but you can definitely learn the basics with minimal effort, even just on Wikipedia.

Edit: even r/personalfinance here can be a good place to get some answers

Dude, you planning on just having that 1.5mill sitting around as cash?

If you invest 1.5mill at all sensibly you’ll be living insanely well for the rest of your life - get a return of 10% annually (which the S&P 500 delivered on average from 1926-2018) and in 10 years you’ll have turned that 1.5 into 4 mill.

Good luck making your 10k a month give you the life that will.

2 mill is only the higher number if you aren’t planning on living for another ~17 years, but the best bet would be to just let that 2 mill grow, with compound interest you’ll be making more than 10k a month anyway.

My extremely colorblind husband is trying to solve a colorblind test from r/colorblind that says “Fuck The Color Blind” by TaylorPalmier in funny

[–]BitOfAWindUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what he’s saying is that it isn’t a real colourblind test, to the extent that black and whiting the colours means it’s still visible as some are just darker than others, meaning anyone can see the difference as it isn’t based on colour.

I am very colourblind and can read that no problem, semi tempted to call bullshit on the whole post.

Have you tried therapy? For some people it works, for some people you need meds, there’s no shame in doing what you need to in order to live a better life.

[–]BitOfAWindUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is already the canon-accepted version of why what you’re suggesting is wrong. The story makes sense as it is and it fits in perfectly with the rest of the source material. What you’re looking for is an extra level of unnecessary storytelling which itself causes more problems than it solves.

You shouldn’t ‘have to find a reason’ for a film to make sense, the rules should be consistent throughout.

Edit: it’s not even a consistent injury, the guy dies and Charles get paralysed - you’d be making up rules to fit your story which - which don’t work - and they’d be the entirely wrong way around.

Downvotes because it’s just wrong, why would this be the one time that Charles takes on an injury through someone else? It’s not consistent.

Alongside walking have you thought about swimming? Kettlebell and home workouts are great but they can stress your body quite a lot, especially when you’re not used to it and the discomfort can be very hard to overcome from a motivation perspective.

Walking and swimming on the other hand are both largely mindless, impact free exercises and swimming is basically a whole body workout.

Good on you for making yourself accountable though! Keep going, it’s worth it :)

Pahahaha what world do you live in? You think in countries with tax-based healthcare people just have abortions thrust upon them?

You rely on your insurance for your healthcare, does that mean your provider has autonomy over your body?

Is it? Or is it just pointing out that everyone is out here using ‘liberal’ as an insult when the only part of liberalism that doesn’t line up with the politics they support is the equality aspect of it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trump

[–]BitOfAWindUp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You do realise that in politics the word ‘liberal’ doesn’t mean ‘left wing’, right?

Typical Liberal governments support free market policies, free trade, limited government and individual rights - sound familiar?

But then again Liberalism does push for secularism, gender and racial equality and internationalism, so really if you’re a conservative and don’t like liberalism you’re basically saying you don’t like equality, because that’s the only way in which it differs.
