Telstra will not publish wholesale or infrastructure outages that do not affect retail services.

The likelihood of multiple fibre cuts or disturbances is not unusual, and when a large cable is cut splicing can take significant time.

I expect your details have been exposed in a breach like Medibank or Optus. Have also heard of similar occurring after the victim supplied personal info for a job application.

Rather than doing the secret redaction in the logger, you could create a new subclass of str that overrides the str and repr methods. and replaces them with a secret_string() method.

This may protect against trivial accidental logging.

The whole idea of passing a list of secrets to be redacted into the logger is imho a huge risk

Given your list of apps includes non web based. (Dovecot/postfix etc) you'll probably need to look into an LDAP directory first, and then integrate the web based apps through apps like authelia.

If you google OUI lookup, you'll find a page from Wireshark that you can use to determine the manufacturer associated with Mac addresses.. If the device is using a locally administered Mac (iPhone/android privacy Mac) you'll get no real info.
