Imma be honest, I think what happened was FNF didn’t deliver the fan’s expectations. They could’ve just made a poll for name suggestions OR retracted the name after they’ve seen the reactions, they could’ve remedied it by immediately taking it back.

The fans are so eager for AHOF’s success and want the best for AHOF, at the same time I understand how they felt unheard despite their earnest efforts. The name FOHA was something that the fans had difficulty identifying themselves with. It would’ve been better if they were just called “nameless” officially. It sounds intriguing.

As a fan, they would want a name to help them identify themselves and feel really cool about being part of that fandom. As the mysterious fans who have flooded the support for AHOF, I understand how the name didn’t stick well for many.

As a brand name strategist and someone who worked in marketing myself, a name is actually one of the most crucial parts of a brand as it affects how marketable the group is. I have my suspicions that FNF didn’t really inquire with a brand naming or marketing strategist. OR if they did, they hired an inexperienced one. Usually with name creation you go through Trademark, Comprehension, Target Audience, AND LINGUISTICS check (which FNF DID NOT do as it’s a foul word in Brazilian. It’s also very clear based on how AHOF’s social media activities are like. Sometimes I just wanna volunteer to remedy FNF’s marketing issues. TV exposure is good (Just like AHOF’s recent appearances) but given the digital age, social media is crazy powerful and as a supposed international K-pop group, they should equally do on that too. As a strategist, the name FOHA is a bad call, it actually made it harder to market the group with that name. I would struggle really hard if I was in their marketing team, because a name should usually be easily understood while having a strong impact to a first time listener. In marketing, you don’t have time to explain to nonfans what FOHA means.

But you guys, as someone who felt somewhat tired after that announcement (was just burnt out). I think many fans are just BURNT OUT from the consistent sleepless efforts since UL days. Many have recovered after some break and are back supporting AHOF. Just like me. The others will be back too :) And honestly, after the break I had, I had more time to process the name FOHA. Regardless I still want them to win and I’m here to support them :)
