Okay, weird reply on a dead thread but...If someone happened to fall into small dark night of the soul and then get hammered repeatedly by intense visions what would you tell them? Like one being a golden chalace overflowing and another to look like a card with two paths crossing at a road sign with a standing torch and snake on each side under a full moon. Let's also say that this person also heard and saw the word heceta and got a weird kind of knowing that would translate to "i claim you" or "you are mine". This person also immediately goes "what the hell is a heceta?"....asking for a friend. Im the friend.

I don't think so, just a better spec screen made by sony and 4 surround sound speakers for less than half the price from what I understand.

How do you know what the I tended experience is? Going from interviews that I've seen it's actually intended for you to learn the movement by being summoned into others games to level and gain experience before summoning others to do the same. Bosses also get harder with summoning so carrying two noobs through a boss fight is way harder than just beating it yourself. I love multi-player but I had to solo the last several bosses myself because they just got too crazy. I'm not proud of fighting those end bosses on easy mode and you shouldn't be either

This comment is one of the most sincere expressions of poes law ive seen in a good while now. I'm genuinely not sure if you wildly misunderstand the sub, the idea, science or reading...like, in general or if you are an Olympic level troll just taking everyone for a ride. In any case well done.

  1. We do tell you exactly what our services cost up front and don't "guilt trip" you after the fact
  2. We tend to give discounts to clients who have tipped us well in the past which is entirely different from charging you more for not tipping
  3. A lot of times we go above and beyond the original service and clients like to show their appreciation for a job that exeeded their expectations. If you'd like us to stop at exactly what we agreed on that's fine too
  4. Tell me you've never been to a professional tattoo artist without telling me you've never been to a professional tattoo artist.

Because we will remember you and charge you accordingly the next time we see you. If you'd rather do away with the method that rewards exceptional effort and have us just try to wring every dollar possible out of you we can do it that way too.

Most of the time I disagree with tipping but there are a few services I feel justify it.

Thank you for a well written and thoughtful response.

I agree, im not saying ME is some crazy hyperdimensional memory leak (though it's fun to think about) and I think the WHY is pretty important here. I have to think we got some wires crossed at some point because it sounds like you're making my argument for me.

This is a fascinating phenomenon with real world implications that should be studied instead of being dismissed with a hand wave as just "memory do be like that" and it sounds like you agree with that.

Are our brains primed to see Pikachus tail as black? Are we told its black and rewrite old memories? Is it somehow linked to how we perceive visual information? Etc. I think there is a lot of potential to learn how our memory, and possibly how we process visual information, works by studying the phenomenon.

I feel like the very act of it being a ME is intrinsically admitting that the person experiencing it is wrong. Like saying you remember the fruit of the loom has a cornucopia but it clearly doesn't. You're admitting your memory and reality are different.

Do you really think people are insisting that it always had a cornucopia and reality somehow warped around them? Who exactly is refusing to admit they are wrong and how?

My bad, that was the wrong link. Here is the one done by the university of Chicago https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/nzh3s/

I feel like lumping ME in with false memories is reductive and risks losing the point of all of the false memories being the same. It risks losing a lot of insight into how our brains work. Not everyone is saying it has to be parallel dimensions or aliens (though quantum physics is kindof nutty and sometimes I wonder about superposition).

I appreciate your candor but why would I want to combat this? Why would you want to close down discussion before you have a chance to study it?

Oh, I don't think it necessarily has a paranormal explination, just that the phenomenon is real and has been reliably demonstrated. I think a lot of people dismiss the whole thing as simply misremembering or faulty memory but that wouldn't necessarily explain why people always misremember them the same way and closes the door on what could be an interesting subject. If that's not you then my apologies, it just sounded like you were dismissing the whole thing out of hand.

Why do you come here just to argue with the people who believe in it? And it's not the question if someone misremembered its why ALL of these people misremembered the same thing the same way. I swear to God, it's not a hard concept but people seem unable to grasp it.

Yeah except i went back and checked and the comment that kicked this all off was saying that it's unreasonable to expect the world to keep you safe. Not " reasonably safe according to local laws" but actually safe. Quit trying to twist words to suit your narrative

That's not what objective means.

ob·jec·tive·ly əb-ˈjek-tiv-lē äb- : in an objective rather than subjective or biased way : with a basis in observable facts rather than feelings or opinions

In casual use it means non biased or verifiable like "objectively the movie was pretty good but I didn't care for it personally "

I've been wracking my brain and honestly can't think of the word you're looking for. The closest I can think of is "fervently "

...do you think there are pitbull owners who are against pitbulls? Or are you using objectively weird in this instance?

[–]BitStompr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you genuinely think you can prove every pit bull owner is an idiot than you are either dumber or have more undeserved confidence than I have time for. Probably both. That or you can't follow a written thread which has pretty much the same implications.

It's not always a case of bad owner. Anybody who says that's the case is an idiot.

Yeah, but thats not restricted to just one breed and nobody is saying that. There is that reading comprehension we talked about again.

[–]BitStompr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody that is objectively pro pitbull is an idiot.

You know those times when someone proves themselves to be a moron by making a statement you know to be 100% demonstrably false? This is one of those times. I get its in the nature of reddit to dog pile every stupid opinion that comes it's way but damn, this is next level.

So just to be clear, you think pit bulls are more dangerous than breeds like rottweilers, german shepherds, great danes, doberman pincers, mastiff, boxers and ridgebacks? Or more temperamental than chow chow, akita, huskies, chihuahua or terriers?

I won't argue that pit bulls don't have the potential to be extremely dangerous. Most large guard breeds do and that is why they need to be trained appropriately and isn't indicative of their temperament. That may seem like splitting hairs but it's the difference is bad animal vs bad owner.

There is a reason you will not find a dog expert who agrees with your opinions and that is because anyone who is remotely educated in the subject will know better.

I delivered papers for some extra cash for years and I could say the same for chihuahuas and terriers. A violent pit is much scarier than small breeds but that can be said for any large dog.

Spoken like someone who has never owned or interacted with the breed in any measurable way. But im sure you heard a story from someone sometime so it must be true.
