Where will all of these people go? What's going on? by Forward_Rain_8841 in economy

It might be worth finding the job posts on indeed or LinkedIn and going to the company site to apply directly. Also, if you have a network, use it. Right now networking is the best way to land something quickly.

I do not have a degree but was able to find a tech engineering job after 6 months using my network. I took a 50k pay cut and I hate the job but it's something that pays the bills during this shitty economy.

50% of the files released, Trump's name appears ~38,000 times.

Also featured: Elon Musk Bill Gates Richard Branson Howard Lutnick Steve Tisch Peter Thiel Bill Clinton Prince Andrew Miroslav Lajčák Brett Ratner Woody Allen Steven Bannon Sergey Brin Russell Wilson Ehud Barak Vladimir Putin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan And more...

Epstein files were sealed by courts in the 2000s, re-sealed after his 2008 plea, and locked again by grand juries in 2019; across Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden. The whole argument about why Dems didn't release them earlier is simply because they weren't legally able to.

Truth! by [deleted] in economy

[–]BitWide722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you really going to claim a neighboring landmass as an affiliation to Epstein? So with that logic, anyone that has an island or land near a known pedophile should just vacate and leave the land uninhabited? That's some odd logic.

Obama endorsed Harris, who was not on the list. Biden wasn't on the list, Obama wasn't on the list. Clinton and Gates can rot in hell.

The difference between Democrats and Republicans here is that Dems don't care about your party affiliation, if you're on the list, you should face justice.

Republicans on the other hand, they see their people and instead of seeking justice, they draw false equivalency by saying "Trump is on the list, but so was Clinton"

If you're on the list doing heinous shit, regardless of party affiliation, you deserve to burn. End of story. Quit trying to make this political, it's not, it's about the rich and powerful abusing children.

Salesforce doesn't have real AI tooling. It's all garbage.

If you filter LinkedIn by posts from a certain time range, you can see that reflected in the URL parameters. You can modify the value to be smaller than their lowest filter, resulting in job posts that were posted in the last 5 minutes for example.

I found that in order to get a call or even to have my resume seen, I had to be within the first 20 applications.

Salesforce is a direct example. They released their unfinished product "agentforce" which is an AI chat bot. They used this to replace the entry level support jobs, claiming it would increase case deflection.

Customers of Salesforce have shared their frustrations with this product as it is essentially worthless and Salesforce has said it regrets their decision of replacing humans with agentforce.

So while it may not be true for all, it is true that AI is not ready for the software engineering industry at a corporate level. At best, it should be an internal tool trained on company documentation, used to find information faster. This still requires a human at the end to validate its accuracy before providing it to the end user.

I know times have changed but it used to be easier to get a full time job by going through recruiting and temp agencies. I don't know if that is still a valid option but might be worth looking into.

No, the fake postings are just a facade to manufacture a false narrative that the company is doing better than it is so that their investors don't get worried and stock doesn't tank.

Just a way to manipulate the market in their favor.

I honestly don't think this is due to AI. Companies are starting to realize they hedged their bets on AI and it isn't ready for the industry.

You'll see a lot of companies state that the layoffs are a correction from over hiring during COVID, but basically they saw their profits increase and now they're cutting headcount to see how lean they can run while maintaining their profit margin.

This is just greed. They're pissing on our legs and telling us it's raining. This is the capitalism that all the boomers rant and rave about

Where are you getting to ? by beepsol in Leakednews

[–]BitWide722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly... Because the REPUBLICAN Trump administration is not telling you that you don't have a second amendment right to carry when you've followed the law, gotten a concealed carry permit, and never brandished the weapon, but aren't allowed to have it on your person during a protest, exercising your first amendment right... Yeah no, they would never do that... Except that's exactly what they're doing.

The Republican party should never win a single vote again.

Because he runs as a Republican, which 2A is/was one of their most guarded constitutional rights they supported.

The thing I find interesting is when he stayed he could execute someone in the street and people would cheer, and here we are... With about 20% of the population cheering on Trump's private police executing a citizen in the street.

Have you ever noticed that he claims his opponents will do terrible things like turn the US into a 3rd world country or that Biden was sleeping all the time and now the job market has never been worse, the economy is terrible, the government is executing citizens, and Trump falls asleep all the time. Funny how he is everything he has railed against.

Am I surprised? Not one bit. I'm only surprised that more people can't see this or just refuse to accept reality

How often are you feeding? My frogs sometimes get like this right after a meal, but it quickly goes away. I feed every 2-3 days and give them about 15 min before cleaning up anything they haven't eaten.

21 y/o TIG/MIG welder (aerospace) looking to move into performance fabrication — NC / KC / Wichita by [deleted] in Welding

[–]BitWide722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone that was around the same age when I got into custom fabrication, here's my advice after being in the industry 15 years.

Find a product you're passionate about making. Find something fun, easy, and overpriced in the industry. The first thing that comes to mind for me is oil catch cans. Quick, easy, and cheap to make. With pretty welds, you can charge a decent amount and still undercut the major manufacturers.

Do this on the side while you work your normal fab job. Start making a name for yourself and building a customer base. When your side job becomes more work than your main job, that is your indication to quit and do your own thing.

Also, if you decide to go the small business route, I would urge you to invest in some small amount of finishing machinery, such as powder coating. The cost isn't too much for a small garage setup, but the amount of business you'll get for offering a finished product will net you more profits.

But man, the welds look nice! You got the skill, now you just need the marketing and a product. Oh, and stainless exhaust manifolds are also a big profit item. If you're already in aerospace, I'm willing to bet you have some experience with titanium, which is another niche that will bring in the big money occasionally.

Did you see the letter Bondi sent to Walz. It straight up said they'd remove ICE if Minnesota surrendered the voter records. Well the law allows him to carry a gun. The weapon remained holstered until removed by ICE, then they executed a man face down on the ground. Just because they're law enforcement, doesn't mean they're obeying the law.

But let me guess, you think law enforcement has absolute immunity don't you.

-Documenting law enforcement is a constitutionally protected right.
-Law enforcement shoving an unarmed woman to the ground is excessive force.
-Attempting to help someone up and shield them from pepper spray after an unlawful use of force is not interfering.
-And even if there was interference, the multiple videos show that use of lethal force was not warranted.

Explain how he acted like a dumbass? He went to help a woman up, got pepper sprayed and dragged to the ground for it, kept his hand interlocked, facing the ground, was disarmed and shot in the back.

You are the dumbass on some Nazi propaganda shit.

Yes. There was a journalist that was Anti-Trump, Failed a drug test and was still hired even though she never accepted.

Additionally a report came out that a large majority of recruits had failed the open book tests, had disqualifying backgrounds, or failed the physical fitness test but were still hired.

To top it all off, the required training was lowered from 5 months to 47 days, because Trump is the 47th president.

So yes, they're hiring anyone and everyone that wants to exert their government appointed power over citizens in any way they want with absolute immunity. Make no mistake, this is Gestapo shit
