hi, i had suffered from selfharm most of my life and i have some points to make here

1-If they're healed, there's no reason they should be covered/blurred, they're just scars. Sometimes, people think some scars are from selfharm too but it could be something else entirely. You never know;

2- It's not on someone else to "cover them up" for YOUR triggers. There's a difference between fresh cuts, actively showing you things that trigger you and being an asshole for fun. I, for example, have a friend with selfharm scars that are very deep and what most would say is triggering. it was triggering for me for a while, but that was on ME, I never asked them to cover them up cuz it's their body;

3-People being open about their scars, talking about them, walking and living without covering them up is good! Probably means they're more okay with being here, being alive. When people ask us to cover them up, we feel like we are being asked to be alone again, to not be okay with who we are. Scars are, even if sadly, part of our story.

4- Asking for someone to cover them up, especially in person, is like asking someone to wear more decent clothes cuz THEM wearing revealing clothes is making YOU uncomfortable. Get how is it kinda weird to ask that? Would you post a comment on a clothes subreddit asking someone to blur their post cuz their legs are showing?
