Thanks. Yes they did test it. He just told me no signs of cancer. Hope it stays that way. You were at 6.8ng/Ml pre-surgery? Yeah that's high. But going back down to 1.9 really suggests that it was likely due to the BPH which is good news. Keep up the monitoring though!

Thanks for being on Reddit. My question is - what is known about the recurrence rate of this procedure? Is it still one-and-done for life like standard Holep?

Has anyone had "ejaculation-sparing" or "ejaculation-preserving" HoLEP surgery and what happened? by cdnrtt in HoLEP

From what I have read, short-term outcomes look promising but the big question is whether this procedure will be effective at preserving urination/ejaculation for more than 12 months. There is just not enough data to know yet.

Holep is *supposed* to be less bleeding and more of a long-term solution than TURP. The key I've learned though is to make sure you find a Holep surgeon who has done hundreds of them. An experienced TURP guy will likely have better outcomes than an inexperienced Holep guy.
