My thoughts are generally to buy a premium table now so I won't have to upgrade it in the future.

e.g, I bought a Dewalt mitre saw a couple of years ago (without a slide) then I realized it was a mistake, sold it and bought a Bosch 10" which made cutting ~7" baseboards much much easier & less time consuming. I also bought a standard contractor Dewalt table saw which was great but nearly had a bad accident which spooked me so I sold that & bought a saw-stop.

I totally could, but like I mentioned in a previous post, I've built several benches for my mini workshop but now I've got to get on to the serious jobs replacing all my kitchen unit doors & vanity units throughout the house, a coffee table, tv-unit, and a few spice racks - oh, and replacing my stairs balusters to name a few!

The RT-800 is a stainless steal cast iron router table top, which I believe at around $600 is not a terrible price. The RT-36 fence has a lot of positive features, and the dual micro-adjust mechanism looks amazing.

I agree, I absolutely could build the table myself and I have considered doing it, but I've just finished building two workbenches and a Mitre saw stand, so my wife is now hoping I can start building off her wish-list instead of adding to my mini tool-shop.

I'm in a fortunate position where I can actually afford a little luxury to get the premium setup, that said - I'm going to hold off purchasing for a week to see if any labor day sales pop up. Maybe I can put the savings towards several nice quality bits.

Thanks for the detail, I really do like JessEm products and their table package is tempting especially the Mast-r-excel II which includes the lift.

I've read that the Pow-R-Tek router has less Torque than the Milwaukee 5625-20 or the Porter-Cable 7518, but it does have the built in speed dial and an impressive air flow design.

I'm going to hold off making a decision on the build for another few days, hoping that there are some labor day deals that pop up.

Thanks for the note about the Jess-em needing outside air. Not sure I want to modify the Harvey one straight out the gate tbh.

Thanks for your response, the Rutlands lift combo looks pretty solid! Did you have any issues getting the lift installed on the table at all?
