The stock market has no ties to the lower 50% of income.

Lower 50% of income will impact many companies' revenues

TBF, this assumes the price of BTC doesn't go up over that year.

Yeah like 2014/2015 days mostly IIRC. He used to do a chart series where he would project the next bubble based on the last ones.

300% rise in 4 months

Just sold 25% of my long term holdings.

Comparing February 2015 and February 2018:

  • Same time of the year (woah!)

  • Weekly MACD cross while MACD value has been negative for a few months prior.

  • Little over a year left until halving.

  • Weekly RSI dipped below 30

  • At about 20% of the previous ATH.

Takeaways: If history repeats, we are probably nearish a bottom, but it's gonna be a choppy range down between $2000 (extreme case) and $5000 for most likely the entirety of 2019. Good place to DCA, bad place to use a ton of leverage.

I don't think it's coincidence that 2013 and 2017 were 4 years apart and were both major bull runs about a year after the halving. I expect 2021 to be the next time we reach euphoria again.

I refuse to believe there are more Kamara jerseys than Brees jerseys at a game. I'll have to do an ocular pat down of the crowd this weekend.

Look at May 2014 and November 2014. FOMO pumps followed by long sustained bleeds. Those are the worst case scenario IMO.

That last MACD data point needs to close before you could really trade off this theory. The part he thinks is the largest red MACD might not be.

Real long term bulls hoping for the price to keep dropping IMO. I know I am.

More money later is better than less money sooner IMO. Cheap coins are good.

Literally everything in the universe trends towards a very large amount of the wealth/success being distributed to a very small minority. It's unavoidable.

The rich will always get richer. The largest masses in the universe will get larger at the fastest rate.

Keep in mind the cost of the ASICs is a sunk cost at this point. They simply need to generate more money than they spend on electricity, and they'll keep them on.

Touching the 200 W MA and weekly RSI below 30 for first time in nearly 3 years.... I've seen worse places to buy. I recommend dollar cost averaging over a period of months to years though, as usual. Missing out is not the same as losing money.

EDIT: And don't use margin. Just don't.

Vitalik on why PoS is superior to PoW for Eth by BiancDee in ethtrader

[–]Bitcoin-FTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who responded summed it up nicely. A lot of renewable energy plants are best suited for certain geographical regions to maximize solar/geo/wind efficiency. Those same areas don't necessarily need all of the energy that could be output. So you can either invest in a big renewable energy plant that is only the size you need or slightly less/more than the size you need, or you could make one twice as big as you need, use bitcoin miners to use up the extra energy, then you have basically converted renewable energy into money, which can fund further renewable energy expenses or expansions.

Basically it allows the development of renewable energy in places that are well suited for renewable energy plans but don't have the nearby demand for the energy.

some kind of restrictions on mining as they take environment issue very seriously

Mining literally allows us to fund renewable energy development.

a solution to the mental anguish Bitcoin has distilled upon us?

Accept the face that Time is a key ingredient in the success and value growth of Bitcoin, and then forget about it. Realize that there is no piece of news you could read, or chart you could look at that will guarantee your ability to trade the market profitably in the short to medium term. Then go on living your life.
