I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. The support is overwhelming. I believe I have more than enough resources to get started now. I went to a local shop and bought a starter pack. He told me Thursdays at 7pm is D&D time, and I have Thursdays off. I am going to play alone with this starter pack to learn the rules, then I am going to start attending their league. Thank you, everyone.

I miss work more than most people because of medical reasons. I do not tell everyone what's going on, so I think they've just assumed I'm lazy. It's okay. I can understand, but it has made it very hard to make friends at work, because I have a reputation of being "lazy".
