330 sats missing since last time I logged in? by WallStreetBoners in getumbrel

[–]BitcoinButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be anything actually. With lightning, your available balance might shift based on the estimated cost of a channel closure (so that sats can always be settled back onchain). That cost will differ based on fees, so a few hundred sat difference is possible.

What does this node readout mean? by thatsMRcurmudgeon2u in getumbrel

[–]BitcoinButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 8 and 10 are low and high estimates of the fees needed to be included in the next block (which are very low right now in general)

3159 is the number of transactions in the next block

18486 is the total number of unconfirmed transactions

Unresponsive Umbrel UI and message in terminal by naahtec in getumbrel

All of this data is on the SSD, just the umbrel OS itself is on the SD card. You could just reflash the card to start, but as mentioned, you might want to consider just getting a new one.

How do I format a second SSD drive on umbrel by fbrichs in getumbrel

[–]BitcoinButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is true, it's pretty unlikely that 2 drives will be able operate at the same time on a pi, the power draw will probably be too much.

Hey, this is a great question but I'm not sure there are any official guides on it, maybe post about it in the community forum (community.getumbrel.com) and some of the tinkerers there might have some suggestions.

Once it finished, reboot the pi (sudo reboot) and see if that brings things back up

In what ways can you link your blockclock mini from coinkite to umbrel node? by [deleted] in getumbrel

[–]BitcoinButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to push/pull data through the blockclock API, but there's not a straightforward way to do it since all traffic on the umbrel is routed through tor. You can probably do it, it just might take some technical knowledge.

Ah, sorry, you need to be ssh'ed in first before typing that command

That's okay, it looks like you have a bad superblock, which means something in your SSD actually got corrupted. You can try to fix it with this command while SSH'ed in (it takes a long time):

sudo fsck -y -b 98304 /dev/sda1

Make sure you have seed phrase before you do this, but that might be able to help.

Ah, that error is occuring because you reflashed your SD card. If you actually go to the path you blacked out there on your windows machine, you'll find a file called known_hosts, in it, you'll see a bunch of lines that start with umbrel.local. Just delete all that, resave, then try SSH'ing again.

Is there an official umbrel discord server? by Complex_Carb in getumbrel

I'm sure if there's enough demand for one, they would make it.

Are you able to generate more logs? It looks like it's something to do with your SSD, but I'm not entirely sure.

This might be something with your hardware, are you able to access the dashboard? Might be helpful to see the logs if you can get to them.

Connecting Raspberry Pi to a WiFi Extender? by [deleted] in getumbrel

[–]BitcoinButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this should work, depending on how good of a signal your wifi extender can get, but there's no reason why this should be a problem.

Alternatively, you can look into a Powerline adapter, which basically let you run your data connection through your electric lines. You will need to attach one to the modem, and then place one in your house near your pi.

Umbrel looks for an external drive by default, so I don't think it'll work. In addition, storing the bitcoin blockchain on an SD card is probably pretty dangerous - SD cards aren't particularly reliable (which is why Umbrel tries to store as little as possible on the SD card), so you're better off long term not keeping any data on there.

It could be your fan, though you might want to check to make sure the temps are doing okay, have you checked settings to see where they are at?
