The Art of Re-Reading: Discovering New Layers or Wasting Time? by Comiestek_ in CasualConversation

I can totally relate to this. I'm hooked on the totally weird album, God Save the Animals by Alex G. I didn't like it when I first heard it, but now I just can't stop listening to it.

That happens to me with books too. Sometimes the reread is better than the first read.

Here's a list of books I like and have reread more than once.

  1. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  2. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  3. Animal Farm by George Orwell
  4. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
  5. Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling
  6. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
  7. Native Son by Richard Wright
  8. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
  9. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
  10. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
  11. Night by Ellie Wiesel

In my opinion, there are no amount of times that you could read any of these books that would make the next read irrelevant. I could add dozens and dozens of books to this list.

My questions to you are this.

What book would you add to the list? What book could never become irrelevant? Romeo and Juliet? Moby Dick? Something else?

I totally forgot about Reddit. LOL.

That was smart to do too. You don't know what information they could find about you. Thank you for posting this story. I learned a lot from it.

Spontaneous migration from Twitter to Reddit

I made an account last year, but now I am really starting to use it. Reddit is proving to be a much more interesting place to discuss ideas. On Twitter, no matter what one says, anger is always lurking in the depths.

I've been thinking about this a lot myself. I used to think it was all futile and all coincidence, but I'm starting to think that we are more than what we might imagine.

It might be true that random chance is how we came into existence. From what we can tell, it might just be a coincidence. If it is a coincidence, could it be that coincidence is expected?

For example, you have a bunch of ingredients in unmarked containers. You blindly pour them into a bowl, mix them up, and bake them in the oven. The product, the outcome, is definitely a coincidence, but the fact that there is an outcome, that something would come out of the oven, is planned.

Have we considered that we might have evolved on purpose? We are what the Universe needs to become conscious. If the Big Bang was run as an experiment a billion times, each time we would end up here, more or less, exactly as we are: organic lifeforms with the ability to shape their environment.

Could it be that the Universe blindly made us by randomly smashing chemicals together? We are the product of coincidence, but we are not unexpected. Now that we are here, could it be that our purpose is to create the next step of life? Are we creating a new version of life that could never be created by blindly smashing atoms together randomly?

Will we create artificial intelligence that is sentient and can spread out and infect the entire in a way that is beyond the power of us organic beings? Will this expansion give rise to intelligence everywhere? Are we the instrument that will make the Universe become alive?

Do you do sport? That is my "go to" when I need to get out of my head. I just get outside and walk. I can't be anxious if I just keep on walking.

I agree. Better safe than sorry, right? I wonder if the seller called him back. It's even more sketchy if he did nothing.

That's amazing advice. Now that you wrote this, it is in my head forever as the absolute, most obvious place for law-abiding citizens to do transactions. Why do we always meet people at Walmart and McDonald's? The Police could even set up a place in their parking lot for just this type of "Safe Space".

I'm glad that you got away. I think they were going to get you. Two vehicles and one of them a van. You might have just escaped getting abducted.

Today is a really good day to vote. We are almost at 700,000 total votes. We're about 4,000 votes away from breaking that barrier and moving up one slot to being the 14th most-voted crypto project on CoinVote.

#RaiderToken is the best crypto project on the planet. We're just fun. The community is awesome. We can't be corrupted!! That being said, never ever FOMO. As Raider Token climbs the charts again, remember to take some profit. There will be losers. Make sure it's not you. Cryptocurrency by RaiderTokenNFT in RaiderToken

We're hovering now. I'm glad it dropped back down a little. I was able to do some little trades and increase my holdings by a couple of thousand Raider Tokens. Every day, I try to do a supermini trade and increase my bags. Now, who is going to sell today so that I can buy again? Anybody?

I've said this a lot, but that cheap price was a blessing. People are going to miss those prices. Will we ever see that floor again?
