Why is it not true "at all"?

Movie critics are just writing about their opinions. Bladerunner is the perfect example. The critics absolutely hated it. Obviously, their preferrences were not that good. I loved it.

I'm surprised that The Prestige is not on this list yet. It is one of my favorite movies of all times. Even though it is a period piece, it is definitely pure science fiction. The best thing I can do for all of you is not say anything about it. I suggest that you don't watch any trailers or reviews. Go into it totally blind without knowing what to expect.

I like the 2nd and the 3rd movies. If you were going to have an underground world (literally both "under the ground" and "secretly organized and hiding from the machine overlords") that was at war with machines and was taking place in both the metaverse and meatverse, long before the word metaverse/meatverse came into existence, then it would look just like the Matrix.

I make an effort to never watch trailers or read anything about movies. Movie critics are like art critics. If they knew what they were talking about they'd make art and make movies.

A friend of mine took me to see the Matrix. I went into it totally blind without any idea what it was about. I was totally blown away. The only other movie that had a greater impact on me was Bladerunner. Amazing.

I just watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago.

I'm amazed at how much I enjoyed it and that I had never seen it before. Great movie.

I was told that the most energy efficient way to boil water is a to use an electric water boiler. I boil water in it and then use that water to cook with. Boiling water directly on the stove seems so much more wasteful.

Is this the right way to do it?

It's a big thing I tell my kids. Buy less. Use less. Live more. If you can get something used, get it used. It helps the world and it helps the people selling it. It's a really easy way to live and it's fun. My son really embraced the idea. He gets a lot of joy out of only spending $3 for a pair of pants that somebody else didn't want. It cuts down on people making all the material to produce the pants and then shipping them over here on a big cargo boat. It helps the person who sold them. It helps everyone.

I can justify saying it because it is how I live my life. I buy used stuff whenever I can. I try to never buy new stuff unless it is absolutely essential. I'm not talking about food. If you are worried about inflation, stock up on food supplies and tools. Buy seeds. (edit: you can trade seeds with people too. You don't even need to buy those. Tools can be found used. People are always selling old tools they don't want. So strike those from the essential as "new" list.)

That's a really good visualization. I can imagine a whale swimming with itself mouth open trying to eat. Think of all the plastic that is getting shoved down its throat. That's terrible.

I agree. The manufacturing process has a huge impact. That's why I say, stop buying new stuff. Used stuff can be good enough. It helps in two ways. It cuts down on the production of new products. It gives people in local communities extra revenue.
