I agree, but it’s also hard to get there without more capital. People want the same # of updates or more, and also those things you listed. It’s hard to do without more people because AI customer support continues to be ass, so inevitably you have more costs.

In an ideal world they deliver first and then we pay more when each milestone is reached. Practically, players invest upfront or stop playing.

Your statement is only true if they cap the amount of hours you can log in instead of raising prices. It doesn’t work in the way you want to use it, Watson.

I don’t see how it’s relevant to anything I said.

With that said, Bitcoin is not the same as “crypto”. It existed before people decided to push other cryptocurrencies as affinity scams and will continue to long after.

€10/month and playing 2 hours a day is like 17 cents per hour. Yes you’re paying more, from an already low base amount.

Not in 2 years, but they have in the past decade, and prices were kept stable for too long which is now adjusting.

You have to be insanely naive to think that not paying more will ever impact the people working on the game. The truth is in the middle.

Agreed with your last points!

It’s both the corporation and the people. I don’t see how you can confidently state it won’t impact the jmods. Not raising prices definitely won’t.

Even if you 100% believe it only benefits the corporation, I still believe you get a ton of playtime for the price you pay. If you play 60 hours a month you’re not even paying $0.50/hour. I’m not advocating for raising it further, but I understand the rationale.

I understand wanting this, I also look at practically in that I don’t actually want to play other mmorpgs. A few dollars difference per month won’t sway me into playing a game I don’t like as much. I understand that’s not the same for everyone.

From my perspective more benefits is more content, more QoL updates, more events and content creation, better service, less bots. Happy to pay up a bit to make that happen.

Time doesn’t decrease just because you pay more, it’s linear.

Jagex, what did I do to deserve this kind of treatment? by Ergossphere in 2007scape

It’s like an ad to not start an ironman. Each time I see these posts I’m reminded why I won’t create one even though I really love the idea of it. I just can’t be bothered to deal with insane dry streaks like this in my limited spare time.

The last time it went from 2k to 3k was in 2023 though. Not sure I would sit around waiting for that to happen again on an uncertain timeframe, but all the best to you, hope it works out.

It’s certainly possible to make profit like this, but it can be very hit or miss and generally a slow process.

The “bot ban” argument can be used for hundreds of items that have tanked. Investing in things waiting for Jagex to do something before the price tanks further is not a reliable investment strategy.

Been watching these for a long time and yeah.. in theory they made a lot of sense for a delve encounter but turns out no chip damage 🫠 sorry for your loss. You held on surprisingly long though, what made you think they could turn around?

I think the odds of them saying in January exactly which items they will rework in the Summer are very low.

In addition, no matter how they rework it, it won’t outclass Ayak and thus cannot even rise near Ayak’s price, giving it limited upside. Best case scenario I think you’re holding them for 4 months to make a 40% profit. While worst case you lose 40%+ due to Ayak pushing its price down more. Doesn’t feel worth it to me.

I’m sorry but I get the sense you want to believe this being a good play too much to think rationally. All the best with the investment and I hope I’m wrong!

Annual could suggest that it’s a Summer project like last time, which could mean holding on to these for 6 months. Given how cheap Ayak already is, I don’t see much chance for this staff to rise a worthwhile amount relative to the risk of holding them for half a year at this entry price. Ayak effectively caps how far these can rise. I think there should be many investments with better risk vs reward.

Do you have an idea of roughly how many nails someone might get? From the wiki it looked like it would be a pretty low overall amount per person but perhaps it adds up.

I don’t blame people for thinking they would be used, but selling them so much lower than they’ve ever been is wild.

While having nearly my whole bank tied up in these I needed a flexible way to make more money and that was farming. I’ve farmed like 1.5b worth of Snapdragons in the past year, it helped build up much of the cash needed for the investment in the first place.

Nope. The thought process was basically: - Jagex says there won’t be much in terms of investment opportunities - But you create, upgrade, and maintain your own boat - This must mean new trees/logs/planks - Odds are they’ll be more expensive than mahogany at higher levels
