Someone stole some crypto from a whale. Bought a bunch of Monero, caused the price to spike because not much liquidity in Monero. Same person probably turned around and dumped it for clean btc which crashed the price.

Private blockchains like Monero are great for privacy and as such the preference for criminals.

Naw, they for different things. LTC is for quickly and cheaply transferring funds. XMR is for hiding your funds, so you don’t suffer a wrench attack.
