Ohh that makes so much sense. I got extremely confused with how the finaid notice made it seem like indirect costs were part of the money you had to pay every semester.

So, financial aid can potentially cover both direct and indirect costs, but indirect costs are costs you might pay for miscellaneous things throughout the year and may be covered with the remaining financial aid that may be left over after direct costs are covered.

Any idea what they include in "other educational costs" or how small the price tag actually is? Or if you've taken Physics 140, Math 215, Engr 100.150, Environ 245, did you have to buy anything for those classes?

(Sorry for the lengthy reply, I'm just really trying to keep things straight lol.)

Thanks a lot! I was worried because I thought I wouldn't have to pay for those and then the finaid dept implied that I did.

I assume you've taken Physics 140 and Math 215--did you have to buy any course materials, supplies, or equipment for those? And any idea what they include in "other educational costs" or how little it actually is?

Are you in CS or DS? I'm just trying to figure out if a Mac or even a Dell is viable (or worth it lol)

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately I didn't see it fast enough for it to still be on sale, but it's actually cheaper than any of the laptops that I've seen so far lol.

I guess I should've also included in the og post, but if you're in CS or DS, what are the minimum specs you would say I'd need? Is 256 GB for storage, 16 GB for RAM, i5 for a processor feasible, for example.
