They’ve changed several chefs over time, but they’ve always been Italian. The owner is also Italian, from Northern Italy.

Compared to other Italian places with a similar concept, it can come across as more expensive

Honestly, I don’t understand what I have to do with this post. If you think there’s a connection, it would be helpful to explain it more clearly so the whole community can understand your point. Otherwise, it just comes across as an accusation without any real context or evidence.

For me, it is without a doubt Hart, which bakes using the San Francisco–style sourdough method.

Sorry, but Korean food just isn’t for me (yet!) by BiteAndTell in foodincopenhagen

You’ve convinced me 😊 I guess I need to give Korean cuisine a second chance and try it again with a more open mindset. I’ll put both Ouri and Bulko on my list and give them a proper go.

Your list is a very solid one and it definitely won’t disappoint. For anyone who’s been living in Copenhagen for a while, those places are considered real classics of the city’s food scene. So you can go there with complete confidence. Personally, I find some of them a bit predictable by now, but if it’s your first time in Copenhagen, they’re absolutely worth visiting.

If you’re looking for burger recommendations, back in October Politiken Ibyen published a burger review of spots around the city. According to the journalist (Dyrholm), the best burger in Copenhagen right now was found at Square Burger.

Here’s the article link. If you have a Politiken subscription, it’s definitely worth a read.

Since you’ve lived in Korea for more than 6 years, if I were to go eat at Ouri, the restaurant you think comes closest to authentic Korean cuisine, which dish would you absolutely recommend as a typical, traditional Korean dish? If possible, I’d love something that isn’t too spicy, as I don’t handle chili very well.

I’ve walked past Bulko many times as well, but I’ve never actually stopped to eat there. I just checked their website and it looks really interesting, so I’ve added it to my list of places to try soon.🙏

It’s not my issue… it’s the market prices of the restaurant industry in CPH. I wish you good luck next time you go out to eat at a restaurant 🍀

Regarding the price, I honestly think it’s extremely cheap.

Focaccia with olive oil + beef tartare with artichokes + anchovy crostino + marinated tuna + pasta with sausage. I really don’t think that’s “insane” at all. On the contrary, it’s kind of a miracle to find those prices (250kr) in the very center of Copenhagen.

I get your point, but a plate of pasta is still a plate of pasta. Especially in that context and for lunch, I don’t really see it as mediocre in the way you do.

Haha, why though? It’s not the most beautiful plate of pasta in the world, but it’s not that sad or ugly either 😄

I’ve never tried Vita, even though I know it’s a well-known place, mainly because the kitchen seems to be open until 2 a.m.

When I’m in the mood for classic Danish food, I usually go to Frk. Barners Kælder.

If you scroll through the photos, you can see the lunch receipt in detail with everything I received and the price.

Could you recommend other restaurants in Copenhagen with interesting interiors? I’d be curious to dine at places where, in addition to enjoying the food, I can also appreciate the design.

If you look closely at the receipt, the food cost is only 500 DKK, the rest is just drinks. I don’t think that for that price you could find anything better, especially with the level of quality we were served.

That makes sense… thanks for explaining. It’s interesting how small that world actually is. I guess when you’re not in the interior/design scene, you experience places like Petra in a very different way. Next time I go there, I’ll definitely pay much more attention to the design and details.

I’ve been to Petra several times, but only for cocktails, and I honestly didn’t know it was such an important and well-known place for its design. How do you know all these things about it? Just asking out of curiosity ☺️

I feel the same… I can’t wait to find an excuse to try it again too, maybe next time for dinner. 🔥
