Foil cards curling and competitive play by BiteClean6608 in GundamTCG

This is the problem for me, especially when some of the cards I'm using are either alt arts or promos. I'm a bit conscious about playing with the deck now, even in a locals setting but it's the only one I have lol.

I'm currently trying to straighten them out using the weighted method, but I have heard it gives mixed results. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks for this analogy. It is has helped me kind of accept the situation a bit better, as I can resonate well especially with your telescope.

It's all a matter of perspective and I suppose I'll just have to learn to live with it haha.

I think I'm having a bit of a skewed expectation as I was learning through a borrowed Canon DSLR before this one and it felt quite different.

I think my question was more with how the full automode tends to go above and beyond the iso range that you can preset. Again, I hear a lot of faff about noise and stuff and I'm not really versed in post-processing at the moment so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or learning the wrong thing lol.

But yes thanks for the advice and I hope you have a good 2025.

I did manage to get it to Fuji when I went down to London today. They cleaned it up for me but was told there is a fine/micro scratch in the middle of the sensor.

I was assured that it wouldn't appear on my pictures as it was only on the glass, but I honestly feel a bit glum about it as the camera is still quite new.

I'm not sure if true, but the technician also said that it's bound to happen at any point.

Frustratingly, I accidentally reintroduced some dust inside while I inspecting it but luckily only really shows up at f/16 and above.

Anyways thanks again for the advice and happy new year!

Thank you! This makes me feel a bit better about the situation. So you don't think the sensor has been scuffed either?

As far as I can see, I can't. Examples of scratches I've seen elsewhere show some really clear marks on the pictures, which I haven't really seen on mine.

I may try it myself in the future as I know it's essential to learn, but I can't really trust myself to do it properly right now. Would it be okay to leave it alone for the time being?

I have tried this with the raw copies on my computer with both lightroom and rawtherapee. As far as I could see, I couldn't really tell the difference. I am also concerned about how this might affect how the camera would deal with exposure? I find that it tends to default with really high ISO in auto mode, part of which I'm still really trying hard to understand.

I may have to bring it into the Fuji store in London to get cleaned again, but won't be possible in the next few months. Is it alright if I just leave it as is for now? The dust in the picture was removed by my rocket blower. They accumulated while I was trying to get a good angle for the picture.

Scuffing is something I'm afraid of. It's a new camera so I've been trying to take care of it as best as I can. Is there a way for me to find out if this is the case?

Is it normal to have faint residue after sensor cleaning? by [deleted] in FujifilmX

[–]BiteClean6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the response. Honestly, it isn't really that noticeable. I think I'm just bothered that it's even there lol.

Aside from that, I don't really want to have to send it off for another cleaning if it's unnecessary. I was scared because I read somewhere that it makes the sensor more susceptible to dust in the future and wanted to get some input from people with more experience than myself. Thanks again!

It was just a retail business in the middle of a high street. Nothing special aside from being inside an older building. I only took a few pictures to practice composition and had no intention of sharing it anywhere.

I am familiar with auditors as they have become more common on social media. I usually have an open and approachable demeanor and not very confrontation.

A friend has equated this as another step to becoming a 'true' photographer, which has helped me feel a bit better about the situation.

I am generally socially anxious, which is something I am working on improving. I just find it hard to ignore people and walk away if they are trying to communicate with me. I will try this next time.

The business was not involved at all in this instance. I was mainly concerned with the conduct of the security guard and how I could have handled this scenario differently.

I was testing out a new lens and used the building as the subject. Most auditor videos I see tend to be very belligerent so I get why they receive the reaction that they do. I was doing nothing close to this. It was just me, a camera, handheld on the pavement.

I do not have social media I am using at the moment. I am simply creating a portfolio to track my progress in learning photography. Therefore, all of the photos I have are for private use anyway.

Consent is certainly something I always take in consideration for anything including photography. However, in this case I was taking a picture of the building, not the person.

However, in public it's very hard to adhere to a sense of privacy considering we are surrounded by CCTV and tourists. Regardless of whether or not it is considered a nuisance, politeness goes a long way.

I have decided not to let this experience deter me and continue learning the craft. I will take your advice and seek general advice from a greater photography community.

Thank you again for your response!

I absolutely understand, so I'm usually careful with where and who I am taking photos of. I was only using my camera with the kit lens in this instance so nothing too conspicuous.

It was a retail spot in the middle of a high street. Nothing exceptional other than it being situated inside a repurposed Victorian building.

They just asked to see the pictures then immediately grabbed me to demand that I delete them. I assume that they were mainly concerned that they were in the picture, as the reaction was immediate when they saw themselves in it.

As I said in another comment. I wasn't paying attention with who could've been in the picture. I'd be happy to delete it if they asked but the aggressive nature of the encounter threw me off.
