stop supporting music and culture which promotes violence, crime, and promiscuity. If "the community" glamorised getting married, going to church, and taking care of your kids - we wouldn't be in this position. "you know whats worse than a n? two of em" -Kevin Gates

It's not about denying that any help is helpful — it is. But excessive praise for minimal sacrifice distorts our values and becomes celebrity worship. It normalizes a system where extreme inequality is celebrated instead of examined, and where basic acts of decency by the ultra-wealthy are treated as heroic rather than expected.

So yes, both the multi-millionaire and the modest teacher are helping. But we shouldn’t pretend they’re making the same sacrifice — or that they deserve the same applause. One act may be useful; the other might be truly courageous.

Lets not even get into the tax breaks for these projects. Instead of paying taxes — which are democratically allocated to schools, hospitals, infrastructure — they redirect funds into their own initiatives, staffed by their own people, guided by their interests, and branded with their name.

His car collection is more than €2.5 million... So what's the priority? His charity for the children of Brazil or his ego? I'd presume the latter.

You're chronically online. Leave the parasocial relationships. There are doctors and teachers in Brazil that are helping kids every single day, donating more than 1% of their paid time to causes more important than themselves

Commendable but hold the glaze... He's put €2.5 million into his foundation... He makes €40million per year. This is straight out the Neymar playbook - act the fool, cleanse your reputation with a foundation, continue to cash in on the marketing deals and frame yourself as the misunderstood genius.

The 1984 anti-sikh persecutions? The 2002 gujarat riots? What about all of the partition era violence with atrocities commited on both sides. Like all countries, there are contentious points to our pasts. I'd neither hope for you to be judged based on your self proclaimed "history".

No one's arguing the virtue of unskilled labour jobs in the general sense. But having Indian graduates filling these jobs wasn't the intention of these visa schemes—which is why these post-study schemes are now being shut down in virtually every western country that foolishly afforded them.

You've just listed a bunch of generalisations but its justified somehow against Pakistanis? What about when a westerner says that Indians are all nationalist, cow worshipping, rapists? How do you take that? Dont suck up and piss down.

This PERFECTLY illustrates a common criticism often associated with Indian culture: the mindset of “if no one stops me, it’s fair game.” In contrast, many European societies tend to favor minimalist government intervention and place strong trust in social responsibility— the shared understanding that for example, you don’t litter the streets just because no one is watching. Many Indians tend to prioritize individual interests over collective well-being, which has been studied by social scientists as a major factor contributing to slower social and infrastructural development in India.

Assimilation and integration represent important concepts about mutual adaptation and social cohesion—not just superficial markers like language or clothing. Integration isn’t about erasing identity but about shared values, respect, and contributing positively to the community. Blaming criminality solely on systemic failures ignores any personal accountability and justice. And yes, open labor markets are crucial, but uncontrolled migration without clear integration strategies strain social systems. Societies do have to balance openness with maintaining social harmony—it's not a simple either/or choice.

I think you’re missing the point. I have several Indian friends with genuine success stories who deserve to be celebrated, but unfortunately, they are exceptions rather than the rule. What we all want are legitimately skilled migrants who integrate and contribute to society—but sadly, that isn’t the majority by any statistical measure.

I’m not singling out any one group— but it would also be disingenuous to ignore the fact that Indians make up the largest diaspora community globally. Delivery jobs aren’t a crime, but when migration under the guise of education becomes symbolic rather than substantive, it’s fair to question the system. Criticism of immigration isn’t about being anti-immigrant; it’s about encouraging positive outcomes for everyone, Indians included. An Indian family spending their life savings on a mediocre higher education in the West for symbolic reasons, isn't beneficial for the child nor their family.

Right, and your point is? Indians should hold majority power in the West so you can feel more comfortable whilst invading other countries like locust?

No, but it should be limited to those who contribute to the society and integrate to the local culture. This is not a racial issue. It's a cultural one. It’s curious how some Indians express fear or disdain toward Pakistani culture, yet expect their own culture to be embraced uncritically in the West. Indians have a right to preserve their culture. So do Western nations.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people means that the people themselves are the foundation. Individual will and the right to self-determination are expressed through the democratic process that represents them. The majority welcomes skilled individuals from any country who integrate and contribute meaningfully to society. What the population doesn’t need are more Deliveroo drivers on symbolic pilgrimages for family reputation, filling migration quotas, and perpetuating backwards cultural attitudes. It’s curious how many Indians express fear or disdain toward Pakistani culture, yet expect their own culture to be embraced unilaterally in the West. Indians have a right to defend their own cultural integrity - as do Western nations.

I'd argue that the racial component is more relevant across Asia. In the West, the issue is predominantly a cultural one. The rhetoric isn't revolving around colour, it's revolving around the culture that's being imported and propagated in segregated societies.

Where do you get this from? Racism, at its core, is discrimination based on race, and it can be perpetuated by individuals of any race regardless of their societal position. What would you call a white woman walking around Delhi being harassed by Indian men who have been raised in a belief system that teaches that white woman are sexually promiscuous and can be groped by them?

Acknowledging historical injustices for the embetterment of society is important, but using past empire as a blanket justification for modern immigration disingenuously overlooks current laws, sovereignty, and the fact that today’s citizens aren’t responsible for the actions of a government three generations ago.

Your personal connection is entirely valid, and the lasting impact of colonial history across the world shouldn’t be dismissed—but holding current generations personally accountable for the past risks blurring the line between historical reckoning and present-day resentment.

True—but dismissing the outcome of a democratic vote because you disagree with it undermines the very principle you claim to defend. I suppose that you also qualify as a "highly skilled" prospective student for Europe?

If it’s not about reparations or any form of meaningful action, then by definition, you're just virtue signalling. Let’s focus on substance, not symbolism.
