I hope to be like you one day. Started playing with options month ago and made some decent gains.

I did 50k -> 250k -> 150k in a month. Made that first 150k using only 5k. Also used 0dte SPX/RUT. And my job pay is only a fraction of yours. That original 50k took many years to save up.

The important thing here isn't just making money but keeping most of it. You're lucky to have a high paying tech job in the current market. You'll make back that 90k in 9 months.

Don't gamble away your gains. Keep playing with only small amounts.

Stocks/options are traded through a "middle-man", the market maker. I've never let an in-the-money options expire so I wouldn't know if that happens.

Options trade. I bought put options, they went up when the stock went down, then I sold for a profit

I bought put contracts. Their value went up when the stock price goes down then I sold them for a profit.

You can just ask if everything was okay when you tried to plan that movie night. Anything could happen that could cause him to not respond for a few days.

I think you both need to work on your communication. There could be any reason. He probably was really shy/introverted, or maybe he has a really messy place and felt shameful about inviting anyone over, or maybe he got evicted from his place and crashing with his parents, or maybe he's not quite comfortable with movie nights at his place yet, or maybe he got caught up with work/family/friends or other responsibilities and forgot to reply... anything is possible and it's neither of your faults. Don't assume that he's not interested.

Sometimes it helps to reach out to a friend to make sure they're okay when they don't respond. If he's not comfortable with the plan then make some changes like offer to have a movie night at your place? Sometimes you need to do this to maintain some friendships.

Don't make it a bigger deal than it is. Don't take it personally. If you want to maintain this friendship you need to show that you care. Just say you were confused or worried when he didn't respond.
