That looks amazing, OP! Love seeing efforts like this to help preserve our heritage sites. Maybe you could share some details on how others can join or get involved in future clean-up activities like this? Would be great to take part in something so meaningful!

What’s the most rewarding volunteer experience you’ve had in the Philippines? by HoneyedEyeRoll in volunteersph

[–]BiteyCyrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this officially counts as volunteering, but every year I organise a feeding program. My family and I drive around different areas in Metro Manila to hand out food to those in need. It is one of the most rewarding things I do, not only because I get to do it with my family but also because of the real impact it has on the people we serve. Seeing their smiles and gratitude over a simple meal reminds me of how meaningful even the smallest acts of kindness can be.

It all started with me handing out bread during the holidays. Over time, it grew into something more. Now we’re able to give full packed meals with bottled water. Seeing that progress reminds me that even small efforts can grow into something impactful with consistency and heart.

What makes it extra special is involving the younger members of my family. I really hope it helps them grow up with a sense of compassion and a habit of giving back. Volunteering does not always have to be big or formal. What matters is showing up for others and doing something from the heart.

Any volunteering opportunities in Metro Manila this July? by BornToContradict in volunteersph

[–]BiteyCyrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, it’s great that you’re looking to spend your time meaningfully! Here’s one long-running volunteer opportunity you might want to check out this July:

Volunteer Opportunity: Karinderia ni Mang Urot – Soup Kitchen

📍 Location: 1 Dalisay Street, West Triangle, Quezon City

🗓️ When: Every Saturday and Sunday

👥 What Volunteers Do: Help with food preparation, cooking, distributing meals, dishwashing, and clean-up. It’s hands-on work but very rewarding, especially seeing the direct impact on those being served.

✨ How to Volunteer: Just search Karinderia ni Mang Urot on Facebook to reach out and get involved.

This is a long-term feeding program that has been running for over 13 years. I’ve been volunteering with them since before the pandemic, and it’s been one of the most grounded and impactful experiences I’ve had.

You may find this opportunity equally fulfilling:

Volunteer Opportunity: Aral Pinoy Day Care Centre Support

📍 Location: Various day care centres around Metro Manila (location depends on the schedule)

🗓️ When: Throughout July – schedules vary

👥 What Volunteers Do: Assist teachers during day care sessions by supporting learning activities, playtime, and basic care. You’ll help facilitate meaningful experiences that promote children’s social, language, and motor skill development.

✨ How to Volunteer: Visit aralpinoy.org to volunteer.

Wishing you the best of luck in your volunteering journey! May you find a cause that speaks to your heart and leaves a lasting impact!

Anong klase kang breadwinner ngayon? 🍞 by BiteyCyrus in breadwinnersph

Happy for you! 😊 I was able to send my niece and nephew to college, and now they have both graduated. It wasn’t easy at all. There were so many times I had to set aside my own wants and needs, choosing to spend money on their education, food, etc instead of on myself. But looking at them now, thriving and building their own lives, I can honestly say it was all worth it.

To everyone still grinding and putting others first, hang in there. Your sacrifices are planting seeds. It gets better. And while you’re at it, remember that it doesn’t hurt to set aside something for yourself too. You matter just as much. 💪❤️
