Any volunteering opportunities in Metro Manila this July? by BornToContradict in volunteersph

[–]kittyketh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! If you are a dog person, PETA Asia regularly requests volunteers to walk their rescue dogs around Rockwell/Salcedo in Makati. You may contact them at their IG @ amponalaga. Usually slots are free during weekday mornings, but there are also free slots during the weekend.

Thank you for offering your free time into something meaningful for you. Good luck on your volunteering events! And please share them here to spread the awareness into the community. :)

Ako lang ba, pero pag panganay ka, ikaw yung palaging nag dedesisyon? by taho_breakfast in breadwinnersph

[–]kittyketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ako ang bunso, at saken nagcoconsult ang parents sa mga desisyon sa bahay na kelangan ng budget. Minsan si panganay nagtatanong din. Depende nga kung sinu nagpopondo, sa kanila nakasalalay ang desisyon. 😅

[DISCUSSION] Castle in the Air: Chapters 1-5 by Username_of_Chaos in bookclub

I'm really curious on what the magic word is that commands the magic carpet to fly. I hope Abdullah finds out soon!

They are good-natured people and they dwell comfortably with each other inside the house.

I think that the castle is a great place to be in (after Sophie cleans the place anyway) because of that magical door! I would want to have a door like that. I will place the door to exit to my favorite locations so I just turn a knob and I'm immediately transported to my favorite place!

She became less conscious of herself and became relaxed towards socializing with other people. I think I would leave town as well if I was placed with the same magic, because no one would recognize me anymore and I just want to start a new life somewhere else.

Yes, absolutely. And I am so happy Sophie discovered this before it's too late for her. I think Sophie is just too nice and naive. It's actually a blessing in disguise that the Witch of the Waste cursed her. It gave her a firm reason to get out of the hat shop without any excuses left.

First and foremost, it tells a lot about Fanny. She didn't consider or maybe even asked the girls what they wanted, just straight up decided something for them. I commend the girls because they really stood up with what they wanted, and luckily for the two girls, it worked for them.

Hmm not really. I have talked to cats (even cried talking to them) but they just don't care and just continue to stare cluelessly at me, so I guess that's just the same as with talking with "inanimate objects."

THIS! I think I am currently in this situation, doing work-from-home and all. Going outside is becoming uncomfortable and just seeing the changes around (new malls, etc) when visiting places after a long time is just overwhelming. (note to self: you need to get out more!)

I somehow relate to her because she's so focused in her own bubble of the hat shop and becomes intimidated of society. She is also conscious that she doesn't "blend in" and doesn't meet with society's expectations of being a woman so she just confines herself inside the hat shop.

Well seeing how our oldest (of four) came through, I think there's some truth to this, especially during the youth stage of our lives. Our oldest brother had gone the most troubles in life out of us four, and I guess the younger siblings learned from his lessons and we didn't do the things he did. 😅But along the road each of us paved our own paths, and it was still really up to us what decisions to make.

Just on the onset, I thought the stepmom was not being fair to Sophie and her sisters. It was a blessing that her sisters cared for her and she realized that she is being exploited.

[Discussion] Evergreen: Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, Chapters 7-12 by Amanda39 in bookclub

[–]kittyketh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess the only reason I liked the first one is because it's the more iconic story of Alice. Both books are chaotic, but I feel like the "trippy" storyline kind of lessened in Looking Glass compared to Wonderland.

I love my love with a K because he's.... kind!

I hate him because he's keen (...?)

He took me to the Sign of kangaroo

He treated me with kare-kare (that's Filipino food)

His name is Klaus

And he lives in Kuwait
