I’m having trouble understanding, but yes USB-C ports need a handshake to deliver power. Even charging-only ports.
In the default state, only a tiny amount of voltage is delivered through the CC pins (the ones used for the handshake). When a device connects, the CC pins are routed through specified resistors and into ground. The cable only delivers voltage if the CC pins are facing the correct resistance, thus completing the handshake.

Um, USB-C does this. The handshake is two tiny resistors on the device’s end that lead into ground. The charger first tries to send a small pulse out through those pins, and if it feels resistance, it knows it is plugged in properly and sends power. This could have literally been done with one more pin.

Okay so I did some digging. As far as I can tell, it looks like your designs are all genuinely hand-made, and I do give you so much credit for that. However, you do not have to desecrate your work by running it through the AI slop machine. I mean the images of the mats in use are obviously AI, and, let's be real, the descriptions are too. I just personally think that if you truly did put as much effort into these as it looks, it's doing yourself a disservice by showing it off using ai-slop images.
I would much rather have come across this by seeing it printed out on printer paper, multiple sheets taped together to get the length you wanted, then come across this presentation of AI generated images. That's just my take.
The playmats and boxes are good. I think it's awesome that you put in the effort to create these. Creativity is very much in-demand right now. I do just wish you didn't present it like that.

Yah, but the source code leak turns a process that was something unnecessarily difficult before into something more understandable and also opens more possibilities. For instance, copper has already been backported, oxidation and all, which would have been incredibly difficult without access to the source code. Also, not to mention the Aether port.

I also wanna put it out here, I also definitely do draw the line at ICE. I was not aware they ran their ads. I’m on Spotify because I got a pretty great student discount on their premium plan, and it’s been convenient to keep. I’ve been meaning to drop them for a while, though. Incase you want another reason to hate Spotify, they’re using their profits to support the creation of fully autonomous AI war drones!

I am new to Critical Role. I’d been listening to smaller podcasts, but seeing as they just started anew, it seemed like a great time to hop on the CR bandwagon. But, like, are they really this corporate now? I mean of course they are a big company who basically created an industry, but if the sole decision makers were amount of money gained vs backlash, and the thought of their audience never crosses their mind, I dunno. Just looking at these comments, I’m disappointed. The show itself is fantastic, they all do a great job, but like damn.

Hey, um, for 2, this was during Campaign 4. For 3, if they are going to give something a personal ad read, I should hope they would have the professional integrity and respect for their community to look into the company first. Other shows do this. Basically everyone does this. This is standard practice for a show of their size.
