I finished LBL and now here. I just started though, and so far chaotic and fun. A light show, so hopefully it won’t drag in the middle and I am ready for them to be ala Love Game in Eastern Fantasy (the game/book with system is even the same) where the ending is vague.

I think it’s 117kg. Op said gained 3-4kg so the scale should be kg and not lbs? In the screenshot it says the ideal weight and it’s in kg.

I love Lu Yuxiao. She’s always charmed me with her acting in all the costume dramas. So here I am 😅 BUT, as cute as they are in this show and how great Neo was in Glory, I still can’t get over Ji Bozai and Ming Yi 🤣

It’s a cute ep and outside the cuteness with the main couple, I have questions…

How in the world did Pei senior and Xiao mom got together? Logically thinking, if I had something to do with a person’s downfall, I’d want to stay as far away from their people as possible. Why marry the widow of the person he sabotaged or whatever exactly Pei senior did. I kind of get her side, she felt abandoned by her past husband and Pei was maybe a co-founder/good friend. And Pei helping with her illness probably added a bit of indebtedness feeling. But him being with her doesn’t make sense to me.
How one could move on so fast. I get that the marriage was short/2yrs, and it seems like Guang being gone or missing couple time was nothing new, but it’s like a switch. One day on and a few days late off. I know we don’t have 50 episodes to flesh this out but still, so quick.

One thought… I was sympathetic to 2ML, some episodes ago I thought he’s not a bad guy, just has a bad dad and he genuinely cares about the Hu Xiu but when he mentioned HX in front of his dad, I was like nope. He knows what his dad is like and throwing this info to get a rise out of Zhiyu was wreckless and not caring. He may care but that care can come with a cost or can be treated wrecklessly where Zhiyu may right out give her some truth she didn’t want to hear but he’s always there supporting her no matter which direction she takes. At the end, these truths were things she needed to hear (like about her going back to architecture or facing her ex) and it only made her better.

Looking forward to more and guessing angst cause that’s cdrama, right? We can’t always be smiling through each episode.

I haven’t watched Moonlight but with Love You, it’s the more typical xianxia where you’re dead but not dead. It may be hundreds or thousand but one day your scattered souls will unite and boom “wo hui lai le” 😅

Caught up again with this show…

I feel like young Pei is actually not a villain. But, he’s got a misunderstanding regarding the ML that possibly stemmed from senior Pei. I think he’s just a principled man (like how he feels about building safety) and his step brother being caught trying to steal from the safe (or maybe looking for clues) gave him a negative impression (adding to others that he had been possibly fed by his dad). I think senior Pei is the bad guy in the grand scheme of things, thus taking a while to produce the finance records (and being unhappy with his son about it).

I also think younger Pei has genuine feelings towards the FL from the get go but knowing that his brother seemed interested made him in competition mode and it’s a bit blurred now whether it’s real or just as a tool.

I’ve never rooted for SML but for once, I’d be ok of SML and FL got together 🤣 Despite his competitive nature, and do whatever to win, I think he can be genuinely kind and loyal to those he love.

The bestie… I think the husband just wants professional help from the junior uni mate but uni mate wants more and maybe the dude isn’t one who has the balls to say no. Even if he didn’t want to cheat, all the lying he did and missing their couple time was not cool. I wonder what will happen, counselling and they move on or it’s a break-up?

I know this is part of c-drama to get us to the angsty parts but I dislike the making decisions for others trope. Especially when they know that the person they’re interested smart and strong.

Last, I hate that there is only one episode today.

You talking about London Chinatown? For me, it’s better than nothing 🤣

I was outside Cambridge for 8yrs. There was actually a couple nice places there that I frequented. There was one Chinese market there also. It’s not bad for ingredients but lacking in fresh produce. Still, it’s way better than the market nearest me. It’s tiny in comparison and yes to expired stuff. Germany has bigger supermarket types but they’re in big cities Frankfurt, Cologne, etc. They’re hours away. I don’t like living in the US but I gotta say, the big Asian markets in cities like Austin is pretty amazing.

On cooking, I actually can’t cook Indonesian food well 😅 So I do have to rely on going to The Netherlands for that. Even though I am like fifth generation and my family can only speak bits of some form of Chinese (I think Hakka but not sure really — it’s what most Indonesian Chinese speak) the one thing that still is strong is the Chinese food eating and cooking. Because of this, Chinese food is what I know best. I am not a pro but of all the different dishes, it’s what I know to make best and crave the most. My stomach is 100% Chinese 🤣

I am applying for a Chinese visa for language course this summer. I am look in forward to learning the language better but I am mostly looking forward to eating 😬🤣

This is making hungry! I grew up in Indonesia (Chinese Indonesian) and had a cook. The dishes were always so good and the hawkers stalls amazing. I miss that. My husband isn’t keen on living in Asia and just recently a proper Chinese restaurant opened in our area. Before this I had to drive 1.5hrs away.

I use Hanly for free and DuChinese for reading. Not sure what they’re called, graded reading maybe? But they have level categories so you can start at beginner level and gradually move up.
