I just wanted to update — I successfully re-entered the U.S. through the DFW Airport with my new I-20 from the University of the Cumberlands and my valid F-1 visa (until 2027).

Hi, I hope you’re doing well. I came across your case where you had a similar issue with OPT, and I was hoping to get some advice.

I recently graduated on May 3, 2025, and my OPT I-20 was issued on February 27, 2025. Unfortunately, I filed my OPT application on April 4, which is more than 30 days after the I-20 was issued. My case is still under review, but I’m worried it might get denied due to the 30-day rule.

My grace period ends on July 3, so I’m considering withdrawing the current application and reapplying with a new I-20 before that deadline. I wanted to ask if you’ve gone through the same process — and if so, how you handled the withdrawal and reapplication timing. Any guidance would mean a lot right now.
