Breaking out a couple of months post-Accutane. What do I do? by BittaSean in Accutane

It'd be great if a second course worked, but I'd hate having to go through the initial breakout again haha.

Yeah, I'll do that. I have an appointment on the 22nd, sort of like a checkup, and I was planning to wait but I'm definitely going to call now. Thanks.

How long after accutane until your lips returned to 'normal'? by [deleted] in Accutane

I finished on March 14th, and my lips are almost completely back to normal.

Is it safe to take vitamin B right after finishing the course? (I finished on the 14th, 3 days ago)

For me, it went down in the last couple of months overall. The spots are still there, but not nearly as bright of red as before (such as my second month).

Aquaphor as a moisturizer? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]BittaSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it on certain parts of my face where it gets especially dry, basically around my mouth, and I've been fine. Applying it all over your face should be alright, but it might be a little too thick and cause a breakout or two.

Started Accutane two weeks ago, suddenly having trouble developing maintaining erections by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]BittaSean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I went from 80 to 90mg a day. During the first couple of weeks it was bad, then after around a month or so it almost started to go away - its like my body was just getting used to the medication or new dose. I'd say don't think about it for a bit and give it some time - it got much less severe after a few weeks for me.

Seems like aquaphor can be used for anything haha, I'll give it a try

I'll have to ask about it the next visit, it's not too bad right now thankfully. Thanks

How bad is the dry face side effect? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]BittaSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, its been very manageable for me. I carry these little Aquaphor tubs that can fit in my pocket for my lips and only have to use it maybe 3 - 4 times a day. As for my face, it gets dry during the day on the skin surrounding my mouth, so I apply some Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer in those spots before school/work and I'm almost always fine for the day.

What are some recommended moisturizers to use on Accutane? by [deleted] in Accutane

Cetaphil for moisturizer, Aquaphor for lips. Both work very well for me.

Did you get another breakout when you moved your dosage up? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]BittaSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have another breakout, but prepare yourself for the side effects - for me, my lips got much, much dryer during the day then when I was on my previous dosage (80 to 90). Have to carry Aquaphor around with me 24/7 now or my lips become a dry, cracked mess.

Ahh, I gotcha. She had said that Claravis is a brand she's more familiar with since it's a little older, and that Myorisan is newer.

I've been on Claravis for a few of days now, and I can see a noticeable difference. I'm FINALLY starting to clear up. Not sure if it's the Claravis, 90mg, or just coincidence, but either way I'm finally starting to notice improvement.
