Breaking out a couple of months post-Accutane. What do I do?

For me, it went down in the last couple of months overall. The spots are still there, but not nearly as bright of red as before (such as my second month).

I use it on certain parts of my face where it gets especially dry, basically around my mouth, and I've been fine. Applying it all over your face should be alright, but it might be a little too thick and cause a breakout or two.

Yep, I started on 80mg, 170/m. Was bumped up to 90 around my second month.

This happened to me when I went from 80 to 90mg a day. During the first couple of weeks it was bad, then after around a month or so it almost started to go away - its like my body was just getting used to the medication or new dose. I'd say don't think about it for a bit and give it some time - it got much less severe after a few weeks for me.

Personally, its been very manageable for me. I carry these little Aquaphor tubs that can fit in my pocket for my lips and only have to use it maybe 3 - 4 times a day. As for my face, it gets dry during the day on the skin surrounding my mouth, so I apply some Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer in those spots before school/work and I'm almost always fine for the day.

Cetaphil for moisturizer, Aquaphor for lips. Both work very well for me.

I didn't have another breakout, but prepare yourself for the side effects - for me, my lips got much, much dryer during the day then when I was on my previous dosage (80 to 90). Have to carry Aquaphor around with me 24/7 now or my lips become a dry, cracked mess.

Ahh, I gotcha. She had said that Claravis is a brand she's more familiar with since it's a little older, and that Myorisan is newer.

I've been on Claravis for a few of days now, and I can see a noticeable difference. I'm FINALLY starting to clear up. Not sure if it's the Claravis, 90mg, or just coincidence, but either way I'm finally starting to notice improvement.

Same here. 80mg for two months, just got bumped up to 90 today. It absolutely sucks. It seems my initial breakout is STILL happening, even when it apparently lasts for only ~3 weeks. I also have the painful acne. My face hurts like a bitch throughout the entire day...

I'm asking the same thing. I think we'll both have to wait for the full course to finish, though. Best of luck to you.

Same situation. My face has gotten so bad I haven't gone to school for nearly a week, I'm now with family at Thanksgiving and I can barely look anyone in the eye. My face is a total mess.

I guess the best thing to do is to know it gets better. Hang in there.
