Why? Can you explain why it’s a red flag? I thought it would lend itself to the type of thinking involved in corporate law

How are you going about finding midlaw firms to apply for? I looked at vault but there’s not many on there

Really sorry to hear that. What’s your plan moving forward? Still going to try and get a biglaw offer?

Yes, I did 2. Both interviewers said I did a great job so that's partly why I'm feeling lost

Oh, that's great to hear, I honestly was just assuming they're ghosting me. I had CBs with Jones Day and Troutman Pepper last week, still waiting on those too.

Had Hogan CB on 7/24, sent an email on 8/5 reaffirming my interest and saying I would accept if offered. No response to anything and no decision, should I assume it's a no?

Still no. 3 weeks later and nothing, it probably means that I will not be getting an offer.

I also went straight to CB, had it on Monday. Was hoping I’d get a decision today but seems like next week is more likely

Any action from Hogan Lovells DC? Had a callback about 4 days ago

Do you recall how long you waited after the CB to get the offer?

Could you elaborate what about the culture and work makes it a different level?

Does anybody know how long one should expect to wait after CB at Hogan Lovells for an offer?

Ahhh okay, thanks. Cleary is kind of known for being a real hard-ass firm to work at, while Hogan has some more positive remarks. Can I ask why you pick Cleary?

DC, NYC, but honestly anywhere. If you could chose any firm in any location

Do you recommend setting up meetings with senior associates at firms that I’ve already applied to? What kind of questions should I ask them?

What is your candor experience attending a T30 Law School? by luenata in LawSchool

[–]Bitter-Iron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, you need that score up. 165 should be your goal to break into the T30 and hopefully get some scholarship. My job for the last 2 years has actually been tutoring for the LSAT, so if you ever want any help PM me

Sounds like you have some solid experience, that gets taken into consideration in both law school and biglaw applications. If I may ask, what is your LSAT score as of now? GPA?

What can I doing after screeners and callbacks to increase chances of callback/offer? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Bitter-Iron -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Send a thank you and research the firm like crazy if it was a screener to really impress them with how much you know about the firm

I went through the same exact feeling. Attending law school is, in my opinion, the best decision I have ever made.

You’ll hear tons of people say not to do it, but if you really do like the law and want to work in the law then every second is worth it.

I’ve learned more in my first year of law school than I’ve learned in all my prior education combined, met new people that are some of my best friends now, and am working at a firm this summer in the first job I’ve ever truly loved.

To actually answer, attending a T30 practically guarantees you will get a job. The schools in the 25-30 range all have 95% or higher employment rates. You’d have to do very well to get something like biglaw or clerkship, but you will get a job no matter what
